“Mehki is lucky to have you,” he said.

“He definitely keeps me on my toes.”

“You came here without him.”

“To see you,” I admitted. “I haven’t kissed a man in almost seven years. I needed to talk about it.”

His eyes widened. “Seriously?”

I nodded. “I’ve lived for Mehki, only for him.”

“And you want to talk about the kiss?”

“Don’t you think we should?”

He shook his head, his gaze dropping to my mouth. Leaning closer, he whispered, “I think we shouldn’t overthink it anymore.”

I brushed my lips against his. “I think I agree with—” Before I could finish my sentence, he pulled me to him and into a searing kiss.

Breaking apart, he rested his forehead against mine. “Angel.”

I opened my eyes. “Huh?”

“I’m still tempted.” He nipped my chin.

“Good.”

He kissed me again, drawing a low moan from me. My head hit the cushions of the couch and he settled on top of me, kissing me, biting me. Every lick, every touch, every groan cracked me open a little more. He made me feel a little crazy and a lot horny.

I tugged his shirt off and finally got my feel of the bare skin of his back, of his stomach. He felt good, hard and hot everywhere. His erection against my core made me want to rip off his pants so he could get closer, to ease the ache that took over my body.

“Angel,” he whispered, sucking my bottom lip in his mouth. “We’re at the point of no return, baby.”

I groaned. I thought the way he said my name was sexy as fuck, but the way he called me baby?Shit. I was on fire, and only he could douse the flames. “Cooper,” I bit out. “Don’t stop.”

His head popped up, his eyes boring into mine. A slight frown creased his brow. “Are you sure?”

I thought about it for a second, before nodding. “I think so.”

Cooper arched a brow. “Youthink?”

His question gave me pause. Then, again, reality shined a bright light in my face. Why can’t I let myself be great? And satisfied? I sighed heavily and sat up. Running my fingers over my hair, I turned to Cooper. “I’m sorry.”

He pulled me against him. “No need to be sorry. I’d rather stop now than do something you’ll regret later.”

I burrowed into his side. “I bet you’ve never had to deal with this before.”

“No, but it’s okay.” He tipped my chin up and kissed me. “I’ll wait.”

I wrapped my arms around him, enjoying being so near to him. “Thank you.” A few minutes later, my stomach growled. I felt the rumble of his laughter against me. Peering up at him, I said, “I had a lot of wine. On an empty stomach.”

“You didn’t eat dinner?”

I tossed him an exaggerated pout and shook my head. “I’m hungry.”

He tapped my nose. “You sound like Mehki.”

Giggling, I shoved him away playfully. “He is his mother’s child.”
