“Do more.”

“What …?” I blew out a shaky breath. “How much more?”

He met my gaze. His eyes looked like coal, they were so dark. “Too much.”

Cooper stepped away from me, leaving me wanting whatever he wanted to give me. I sagged against the wall and tried steadying my breathing. With a hand against my chest, I whispered, “You’re probably right. We definitely shouldn’t do too much.”

“Angel,” he said.

I got my shit together and stood up straight. “Yes?”

“I respect you.”

Uh oh, this sounds like a letdown.

He drew close to me again. “You’re a beautiful woman. Sexy.”

Is this the part when he tells me it’s not me, it’s him?

“I enjoy spending time with you. And Mehki.”

The mention of my son’s name cleared the fog in my brain. “I feel the same.”

“I think…” He tilted his head. “If we want to domore, we should take our time.”

A wave of relief washed over me. I didn’t know what I expected, but I definitely didn’t think he would approach this turn of events like this. Nodding, I said, “I agree.”

“But I’m so tempted.” He brushed his lips over mine. “I better go.”

“I think you probably should.” I tugged my shirt down and opened the front door. “I’ll talk to you soon?”

He walked into the hallway and turned around. “Bye, Angel Crawford.”

Leaning against the door, I smiled. “Bye, Cutie Prescott.” I slapped my hand over my mouth.

Cooper laughed. Arching a brow, he asked, “Cutie Prescott?”

“Bye, Cooper.”

“No, I want to hear more about this.”

I pushed him back when he tried to step back into the house. “Bye. Talk to you tomorrow.” I closed the door.Lord, I’m in trouble.
