“Hm?” Paige moaned, sipping her wine. “This is so nice.”

Paige scanned the dining room, smiling at several of the guests. Then she met Andrew’s intense gaze. It was their first official—and public—date. After they’d reaffirmed their promises to each other, Paige had immersed herself in their life together. She didn’t think she could love him more than she did yesterday, but her love for him grew every single day.

They’d settled into a new normal that involved her learning to navigate the industry without him. But she had a good team, and Vonda was perfect for the job that Andrew had filled so effortlessly before.

“I’m glad we decided to come here,” she said.

He squeezed her hand. “Me too. I love that we don’t have to hide anymore.”

When they made the decision to finally “go public,” Skye had suggested they leave the city. So, they’d taken the weekend off and headed back to their safe haven, the lake house.

After they’d spent the first day in bed, on the couch, against the wall, and atop the kitchen table, he’d surprised her with dinner reservations at a local Italian bistro. The food was delicious, but the company . . . superb.

“You’re so beautiful,” she whispered, giggling when he frowned at her. Andrew had always made her feel beautiful and treasured. But she had yet to tell him how beautiful she thought he was.

He eyed her over the rim of his wineglass. “That’s nice.”

“Nice? I tell you I think you’re beautiful and you tell me it’s nice?”

Andrew laughed softly. “I’m . . . I don’t know what to say to that.”

“You’re such a man. Say thank you.”

He leaned forward and picked up her right hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing her knuckles. “Thank you.”

They shared another glance, and Paige shifted in her chair, crossing her legs.My man is hot. And the way he was looking at her made her want to climb across the table and sit in his lap. “I think you need to stop looking at me like that,” she told him.

He blessed her with a wicked smirk. “Never.” His gaze dropped to her mouth, then lower . . . lower. “I like the way that dress fits you.”

“I noticed.” She shuddered as she recalled the way he’d taken her from behind—on the staircase—before they’d left for the restaurant. “Stair sex was hot.”

Andrew grinned. “Yeah, it was. Car sex might be even hotter.”

She gaped at him, but the mild fluttering in her chest suggested her body liked his suggestion. Paige stroked her throat as her mind turned with the possibilities—back seat, front seat . . . hood. But her celebrity prevented them from being too adventurous with it.Maybe in the driveway at the house?

“You’re thinking about it, aren’t you?” he asked.

A blush worked its way up her neck. “Yes,” she whispered.

“What did you come up with?”

Paige glanced at the couple behind her. There was no doubt in her mind that the young woman had recognized her. During dinner, they kept staring at Paige, and she could’ve sworn she’d caught the flash of a camera out of the corner of her eye earlier.

“I’m thinking the hood, under the moonlight.” Andrew leaned back, never taking his eyes off her. “I think I might be able to make that happen.”

She trembled in anticipation. “Yes, please.”

“The only thing is”—he leaned forward—“I want you naked on that hood.”

Her lips parted and a shiver snaked up her spine. “Really?” she croaked.

Andrew nodded slowly. “But that can’t happen in Michigan.”

“Shit,” she grumbled. She’d almost forgotten where they were. Late fall in Michigan might not be the best place to make her fantasy come true.

He finished his glass of wine. “But trust me . . .” The low rasp in his voice, the lustful promise in his eyes made her want to lean in to him, to touch him, to taste him. “I will have you there. Soon.”

Paige jumped when the waitress came to the table. She pressed a hand to her chest, hoping to steady her rapid heartbeat. Andrew shot her one last glance before he turned his attention back to the waitress. The older woman asked if they were ready for dessert.
