“She’ll be okay.” He sighed. “I’m coming back to Detroit, though.”
“No,” his mother said. “You don’t need to be here. You have to stay with Paige. Connor is here, and he’s not leaving any time soon.”
“Ma, if you need anything, let me know. I’ll send security there for a while.”
“You don’t have to do that. I have Ms. Betty here, right under my mattress.” Ms. Betty was the name of his mother’s three-eighty-caliber gun. She’d purchased it a couple of years ago when she went to firearms training to get her Concealed Pistol License.
“I know you have Ms. Betty, but you can’t go pulling that out on the paparazzi.”
“I know what I’m doing, boy.”
“Yeah, but you can barely walk right now. Just let me send someone to watch over you. That’s it. Connor can’t be there every hour of the day.”
She reluctantly agreed and, before he hung up, made him promise to call often. He placed another call seconds later.
Vonda answered immediately. “Andrew? What the hell is going on?”
“Nothing.”
“Have you seen social media? You’re trending. They even have a mash-up for you and Paige—Prew.”
“What?” He shook his head. “Never mind. Listen, I need security posted at my mother’s house. Jax has relationships with several security firms. I think Hill Security is located out of Detroit.” Andrew instructed Vonda to hire the company and send them to his mother’s house. He gave them Connor’s number as a contact.
“What else?” she said.
“I’m going to be here for a little while longer, so I trust that you have everything under control client-wise.”
“Oh, you’re good on that front.”
“I had no doubt.”
“I did receive a call from the studio. They’re still waiting on that contract, threatening to hire Heather Franklin for that role. Also, the producer has been hounding me over the reshoots.”
Andrew nodded. “I’ll call Robert, and I’ll talk to Paige about the contract.”
“Then I’ll wait to hear from you.”
He ended the call and sent Connor a text message about security. Then sent a text to Skye letting her know that he’d handle everything.
Her reply came through a minute later: Yeah, right.
“Drew?”
Paige’s voice stopped him from sending a terse response to Skye. Instead, he put his phone down and stood. “Hey.”
She approached him, dressed in a short lace nightgown. His gaze raked over her, lingering on the outline of her breasts under the lace. Stepping between his legs, she wrapped her arms around his shoulder. “Hi.”
He smoothed his hands up her back, pulling her closer. “You’re so damn tempting.”
With raised brows, she climbed on his lap, straddling him. “And you’re so damn dressed.”
Laughing, he kissed her, picked her up in his arms, and lowered her down on the glass table. He took his clothes off quickly and pulled her to the edge of the table. Seconds later, he was inside her, inside her warmth. He took her hard and fast as she writhed under him. It didn’t take her long to climax, and this time they fell over together, lips fused and bodies pressed against each other.
“Oh,” she moaned. “You’re so good at this.”
Andrew met her gaze, searched her face. “We’re good at this.”
A slow smile spread over her face. “Now I have to take another shower.” She brushed her mouth over his. “Want to join me?”
