Onto the bed we fall so I am on my back. My lower hands hold her thighs wide, our hands are clenched together. "Do you love me?" I whisper in her ear. "Tell me again, scream my name and tell me you love me and I will never be parted from you."
If I felt pain like humans did, she'd be hurting my hand. Her nails are digging into me as she speaks. "I love you." She huffs, sucking in a breath as she cries out from her orgasm.
I envelop my Ione in my arms, all four of them as my hips continue to move. My mouth planted against her ear. "I love you too, my treasured one."
She's sleeping again. Naked, the weak winter sun on her back. Her chest rises and falls and something in me understands that she is mine. Maybe…what I've been looking for, searching for, hungering…all this time…is it wrapped in this woman?
I have always existed and could it be that in this moment in the time my brother controls, that my star exists? My consort. I've never taken one, never wanted to, and as I turn and look at her now…I know she is my night. She is my reason…for staying my hand, if I decide to.
Looking back out of the window, I raise my eyebrows in surprise at the white snowflakes coming down. The solstice is two days away. I can feel Chronomir and Luciara moving towards me. Moireth will be close behind them.
Then I notice Ms. Taylor peeking out of her door, she doesn't see me, and so moves to check her mail. I really do need to find something else to do, but as the elderly woman looks up, I wave at her and she crosses herself. I'm not a demon…maybe I should tell her that.
No, Ione will yell at me again.
Chapter twenty-five
A Time To Kill
Ione
"TheYukonTerritory?"Iscoff. "Do people even live there?"
Rose is quick to answer me. "47,126." She shrugs as Caspian shakes his head at her. "What?"
"It's going to be fucking freezing." Delilah pretends to shiver. "I'm not a huge fan of the cold."
Rose raises an eyebrow. "You're literally a wolf. A gray one at that!"
"And?" Delilah purses her lips. "I don't like the feeling of snow on my feet."
Rose scoffs. "Ma'am, you're built for cold. I am a jaguar."
"She has a point," Caspian wags his finger. "Built for heat."
"I don't give a damn." Delilah crosses her arms over her chest. "I'm still going to be cold. It's December! In the Yukon Territory! He lives seventy miles from the Arctic Ocean!"
To be honest, this sounds like an adventure, and as Caspian, Rose, Delilah, and I sit in the living room and discuss our perspectives of the word 'cold,' Athy, Moireth, Luciara, and Chronomir are talking in the dining room. I can't hear what they're saying, but Athanasius is doing the bulk of the speech. Chronomir looks uninterested, he keeps looking over at Rose who waves at him and the Primordial of Time blushes just slightly. The apples of his cheeks turn red, and he turns away paying attention once more to his siblings.
"You'll be with me, sweet thing." Caspian throws his arm around me. "So, are you and Athanasius…you know."
"Rude to ask," Rose clucks her tongue. "I am also curious though."
"Yes," I smirk. "He called me his consort."
"Shit," Caspian removes his arm. "No luck for me then."
Delilah rolls her eyes. "Like you had a chance," She pokes my arm. "I hardly think Ione was interested in you."
Rose and Delilah laugh, but Caspian crosses his arms. "You are very handsome Caspian." I add in quickly.
"Is he?" Athanasius is suddenly right behind me, his chest touching my back. "I'd hate to kill him."
Caspian raises his hands. "I did nothing wrong."
Moireth chuckles. "Caspian is a forever flirt, brother, he means no harm."
"This is true," He nods before rubbing his hands together."What is the plan my illustrious Primordial."
