Jannie

“Nick.”

Jannie gently slapped Nick’s cheek, feeling her heart lurch. “Nick!”

Just as a wave of panic seized her throat, she saw his eyelids flutter. “Are you OK?”

Slowly, he opened them, his expression dreamy as he gradually focused. A very sexy half-smile dawned on his face as he regarded her, reaching to caress her hip. “Never been better. Why?”

She slid her hand up to thread her fingers through his hair, pushing it off his forehead. “I think you passed out for a few seconds.”

He looked skeptical. “That doesn’t happen.”

“It does. In certain extreme cases.”

“Thatwasextreme. Would you agree?”

“I would.” Gently, she massaged his scalp, frowning slightly. She’d heard of people passing out after particularly intense orgasms. She knew Nick was healthy and that pilots were required to undergo biannual FAA physicals to keep their first-class medical certificates current. These included detailed cardiovascular assessments, but she still found it disturbing that she had pushed him that far.

“Has this happened to you before?”

“No.” He blinked, looking a bit bewildered. “Nothing like you has happened to me before.”

She felt the same way. Reaching for a box of tissues on the nightstand, she gently wiped his chest. Nick unleashed savage, feral feelings she couldn’t control, even as she reveled in exerting control over his pleasure. The fact that he allowed her to do that blew her mind; he let her do things to him she’d only imagined in her darkest, most secret fantasies.

“What are you saying, Sebastian?” She smirked, drawing the Kleenex across his belly. “That I tapped into your submissive side?”

His eyes gleamed with something that bordered on dangerous. “I’m saying …”

The next second, she was on her back, her wrists pinned above herhead by his large hand.

She gasped. Wild butterflies spiraled through her middle, and Jannie blinked, her lips parting as he stared down at her with laser focus.

His eyes … oh, God, they pinned her too, piercing deep into her soul. For a few heart-stopping moments, she stared up at him, her nostrils flaring at the distinctive scent rising from his chest.

“I’m saying that I usually don’t let anyone do things to me, no matter the circumstance.” He tightened his grip a fraction.

“But I thought—”

“You thought wrong. I’m this way with you because it turns me on to see you take what you want. No matter if you’re flying a plane or going wild, bouncing on top of me. So, I give you control because it pleases me to let you have it. But don’t think for a second—” he lowered his head and brushed his lips over her temple, his hot breath skating across her ear, sending her into a full-body shudder “—that it’s who I am.”

She gulped, her mouth suddenly dry. “Who are you, then?”

“NotSebastian.”

“Not Sebastian?”

He shook his head slowly. “No. But I’ll be him. For you.”

And then, Nick seized her mouth in a plundering kiss so ravaging, it drew a whimper out of her.

My God, this man. She wasn’t playing with fire; this was napalm.

She’d sensed it that first day, when she laid eyes on him after so many years. Closing her eyes, she let the torrent that was Nick sweep her away. His lips and tongue branded her with such aggression that when he finally broke the kiss, the whole room seemed to tilt and spin.

Jannie stared up at him in exhilarated confusion. She wasn’t used to a man setting aside his very essence just for her. Unknowingly, she’d had a leashed tiger in her hands.
