“I would love to know what goes on inside that head of yours,” I mutter, tapping her temple.

“It's so much fun in here.” She flashes me a wicked grin before winking at Elijah. “He would love it.”

Elijah's face hardens. “We all know she's mine, so I’m not even entertaining that.”

I love it when he gets all possessive.

He shifts his attention to Ezra. “What was so urgent that you felt the need to barge in here without knocking?”

Ezra drags a hand over the back of his neck, clearly backtracking before jolting straight. “Fuck. It's Aria. She's gone into labour.”

“What? Why wasn't that the first thing to come out of your mouth?”

“In my defence… your boobs were very distracting.”

I scoff, folding my arms.

Elijah, who's had enough, drives a fist right into Ezra's shoulder.

Hard.

Ouch.

I need to get to the hospital.

I've grown really close to Aria—closer than I expected. Between teaching Millie's ballet class, the time we spend together outside the studio, and family gatherings, she's become… important.

It's mad to think I have two close friends now when I grew up having none.

When she asked me to be the godmother of her son, I cried—fully, embarrassingly, and uncontrollably.

And I promised her when the time came, I’d be there. Especially since Elliot falls apart the second she is in pain.

“Someone needs to take me to the hospital,” I say urgently.

“I’ll take you. Ez can lock up.”

“Aw, what—” Ezra starts, then visibly rethinks his entire existence when Elijah levels him with a look. “Yeah. Right, I’ll handle it.”

“I suppose I’ll help,” Quinn adds, waving a hand dismissively. “Go. And maybe change first before you accidentally flash the whole hospital, and Daddy Elijah needs to kill everyone.”

She disappears before I can argue about her big mouth, leaving me with Elijah.

His hand closes around my arm, pulling me straight into his chest. My breath stutters, but I tilt my chin up anyway as his lips ghost my ear.

“I hope you're ready for your punishment tonight, princess.”

I huff softly, feigning innocence. “I did nothing wrong.”

“You kept it from me.”

“I simply forgot.”

“Keep lying; it'll just add to how many strikes you will receive. They saw what's mine,” he nips my ear and pulls back. “So I’m going to remind you who exactly you belong to.”

A thrill shoots through me.

He smirks. “Tonight I want to find you in our bedroom, naked and bent over our bed, waiting for me.” he looks over my shoulder. “Now, let's go before I start early and give them a show.”
