It takes a moment, but then something clicks. Smells I’ve never smelt before filling the space around me.
I pause, blinking rapidly as my body starts to react. I breathe in again and groan. Three new scents that have my mouth water and my pussy slick. But two of the scents are stronger than the third. Musk with a mix of amber, and whipped cream.
My lower lip starts to tremble, tears stinging the back of my eyes.
I knew it. I fucking knew it.
I let out a sobbed laugh of pure happiness.
This feeling, it’s so powerful, so raw. I can smell them now, my alphas. My fucking scent matches.
Is this really happening? Or am I still dreaming?
I knew my blockers were starting to wear off, I could feel the changes in my body but I couldn’t smell anything new.
But now, it’s so strong it nearly has my head spinning.
My hand covers my mouth, tears rolling down my cheek freely now. I’m shaking with excitement, a little overwhelmed at the whole thing.
Closing my eyes, I take a few deep breaths to try and steady my breathing, but it only makes things worse.
A wave of slick soaks my sleep shorts and I whimper as my stomach cramps.
My heat. I knew I was going to start soon, but their scents must have triggered it early.
With shaking legs, I get to my feet, eager to get downstairs and see them.
I’ve wanted this for so long, for this to be my reality. And now it’s here.
I knew in my heart they were mine, not that they weren’t before.
The one thing I realize as I walk out of my bedroom and down the stairs is that I’m not afraid.
Because unlike last time, I want this. I want these alphas. I have nothing to fear with them. They love me, care for me, adore me.
This is how it was meant to be.
The sound of Willow and Atlas’ banter as I approach the kitchen has me smiling. My grin is so wide it hurts.
“You’re going to wake Briar up.” Jude tries to shush the alphas.
“Good. I want her up. I miss her,” Willow giggles. “She should be down here eating with us.”
“I could go wake her up,” Atlas suggests.
Stopping in the doorway of the kitchen, I say nothing as I watch the three of them. Jude is the first to notice me.
“No need. There's our girl,” Jude smiles.
The other two look my way.
My breathing is heavy, tears continue to spill down my cheeks as the scents from before are at full power now. So potent and strong.
“You’re crying.” Jude’s brows furrow, getting to his feet.
“Briar, is everything—” Willow starts to ask, taking a step towards me. She stops, eyes widening as she gasps, “Oh my god.” Her words come out choked.
“What’s wrong?” Atlas asks, looking between the two of us. He goes to move towards me and ends up stopping right next to Willow.
