“A good thing or?” I ask, hoping she doesn’t regret what just happened.

She smiles up at me, her lips swollen and wet from our kisses, this happy relaxed satisfied look on her face. “Good. Real good.”

“Good,” I smile. “Because fuck me, Briar. That was everything.”

“Yeah?” She smiles more shyly this time.

“Oh yeah,” I chuckle. “Sooo.” I can’t help but grin. “Now that we know each other’s dirty little secrets, is there any chance I can take you on a date?”

Her whole body trembles with laughter and fuck I could listen to her laugh all day. “Yeah. I think I’d like that. But with one request.”

“Name it.”

“Mind helping me get rid of him?” She looks towards the dead man on the ground a few feet away from us.

“Yeah. I think I can do that.” I bury my face into her neck, peppering her neck with a few kisses. “As soon as this goes down.” I show her what I mean by rolling my hips, grinning at her gasp.

“Deal.”

BRIAR

I’ve never been on a date before. I have no clue what to expect.

Atlas came by the club last night and asked if I was free tonight. I said yes and he asked if he could take me on that date.

There was no reason for me to say no, and I didn’t want to. So I agreed.

The smile on his face has butterflies going nuts in my stomach. This is surreal. I can’t believe after two years of pinning after this man, I’m finally going out with him.

Who knew all it took was catching me murdering a man only to find out he was on his way to do the same thing.

I still can’t believe that happened. And the sex after it, god, it was amazing.

Fuck that, amazing doesn’t even come close to describing it.

The fact that I felt safe enough to give my body over to him like that is a big deal.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I trust Atlas. The only other people in my life I’ve ever trusted are the girls.

With Atlas, it feels right. He feels like home. Like he was meant to be mine.

Grabbing my phone, I send Atlas a text.

Me

So, this date thing. What are we doing?

Atlas

It’s a surprise.

I blink at the phone. Really? That's all he’s going to give me.

I look at myself in the mirror. I’m dressed in jeans and a red tank top that shows off the top of my breasts. Is this okay to wear to a date? Should I put on a dress? Do I even own a dress?

Me

Okay, that doesn’t help me with my whole what do I wear thing.
