“You know, I’m not even a little bit sorry for what I’m about to do. I’m going to enjoy every second of this,” she laughs, and it sounds a little crazy.

What is she about to do? And why does that laugh kind of make my dick twitch?

My brows jump when I see her open the man’s pants and pull them down. Then she takes a knife from her pocket, and—Oh god, is she about to—Yup, she’s cutting the man’s dick off.

The man screams but it’s quickly muffed as Briar shoves the mangled piece of flesh into his mouth.

“Shhhh,” she coos. “It’s not anything you don’t deserve.”

She holds the guy’s mouth closed, forcing him to gag, trying to cough.

I just blink, and blink, and blink, trying to process what the hell is happening.

“That’s it. Stop struggling. Just go. Trust me, it’s best for the world if you’re no longer a part of it.”

She’s killing this man. He’s bleeding out, right here, in this alley.

And the only things I’m feeling are relief, because here I was worried about telling Briar about my second job as… well… a serial killer I guess you could call it?

It’s mostly just taking out the trash I find in surrounding towns, and any that enter my club.

And arousal, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so damn sexy as watching the girl I’m obsessed with, covered in blood as she takes the life of this waste-of-space man.

I want to wonder if this is her first time killing someone, but with the way she’s been so calm about it, I’m going to go with no.

“Impressive, but he’s bleeding out quite a bit. Might be hard to clean up.” My voice comes out as a deep rasp, and it’s hard to hide the arousal thick in my tone.

Briar’s head pops up, her panicked eyes shooting my way.

“Atlas,” she says quickly. “It’s not what it looks like.”

I can’t help the chuckle that slips free. I raise a brow, crossing my arms over my chest, axe still in hand. “Really? Looks like you just cut his dick off and made him choke to death on it.”

Briar looks down at the man, who is no longer breathing, and grimaces. “In my defense, he did deserve it.”

“I agree,” I nod.

She narrows her eyes. “You do?”

“I do,” I nod again.

“Why aren't you freaking out?” she asks. “And, would it be crazy of me to ask you not to call the cops?”

God, she’s so damn cute. “I won’t call the cops, Briar. It would only bring unwanted questions and I’d like to keep them away from my place of work. As for why I’m not freaking out, that would be because I was coming out here to do the same thing you’re doing.”

“You were?” she gapes at me.

“Well, not the chopping his dick off, although that was a nice touch.” I hold up the axe. “More of a quick hit to the back of the head. It makes a nice sound when it cracks a skull.”

She blinks at me, like she thinks she might be going crazy. “You were going to kill him?”

“I was,” I nod, not bothering to lie since she killed the man before I could get to him.

“Huh,” she says slowly as she takes the time to process everything.

I don’t blame her. This is a very big moment in our relationship. But it can’t be a bad thing, right? We’re finding out we both kill people as a hobby. Isn’t it good to like the same things?

“So, is coming to kill this guy a spur of the moment thing, or has it happened before?”
