Without a hint of bravado, I have to take his words at face value. There's also no missing him twitching to life again, telling me we've got morefreaking amazingahead of us in the moonlight.

Again, he takes me by surprise by reaching out and holding me tight. This means that when he rolls onto his back, I'm straddling his gorgeous body.

"Okay, sweetheart, now it's your turn."

Strange, but an hour earlier and I'd have been hit with performance anxiety at this point. That's not the case now, with my grin as wicked as anything Zac has managed tonight.

I'd thought our first time together was mind blowing, but as the days progress, the sex gets even better.

However, I'm no longer calling it that. With Kelly, it's all about making love, of showing her how much she means to me, without words.

It's taking its toll on my work, though. Thanks to Ethan's rule that we have nothing to do with clients, it's made for a lot less sleep than I need.

To make sure I'm well away before the rest of the team arrives at work, I've been setting my alarm for five.

While Tyler knows I'm helping Kelly with the float, he's got no idea how far other things have progressed. The less he, and therefore Ethan, knows about that, the safer my job.

I'm nowhere near in a position to go full time with my furniture restoration gig just yet. That's the other thing suffering because of our liaison, although I've no regrets.

I thought I might get more sleep once Lucky Break finished the renovations at Kelly's family vacation home, but the reverse is true. Now I'm as likely to spend the entire night with Kelly, leaving for work straight from her place.

And because we can't keep our hands off each other, we're getting by on less sleep than we need. It's a little easier for Kelly with her able to grab catnaps during the day.

All that comes to a grinding halt thanks to Lily Finnegan, a Lucky Break client who, unknown to the rest of us, is in a relationship with Tyler.

When Ethan discovered they'd been seeing each other, she'd confronted him about his stupid rule. With that being how Ethan met his wife, he'd been in no position to stop others from doing the same.

On hearing about this change to the rules at the start of lunch the same day, I'd stuffed my sandwich in my mouth and was soon running for my truck.

I take less than five minutes to drive to Kelly's place, where I abandon my truck in the driveway. I no longer need to hide my presence here.

Even better is the porch being private.

Perfect when you want to surprise the lady you love with a little midday rendezvous. As this thought flashes through my mind, my actions slow. Is that how I feel about her?

That I love her? That there's nothing casual about what we've got, despite my being naked just outside her front door? Acknowledging my love for her, both exhilarates and terrifies me. I've never felt this way about a woman. Not even my art teacher all those years ago.

After letting myself in, I find Kelly spread out on the floor of her office, enjoying the sun. That she's down there in her underwear, says she's received no work from the agency.

This, to one side, seeing her luxuriating in the rays like this, fills me with joy. Gone is the woman I'd first made love to, with her confidence growing every time we join. Despite knowing I'm there, she stays right where she is.

"Did you forget your lunch again?" She's said this without opening her eyes, missing that I'm naked.

"No, I forgot this." I drop to my knees and am kissing her soon after. From there, things both speed up and slow down when, between kisses, I explain Ethan's change of heart.

She wrenches her lips from mine as the import of my being here and naked makes itself known. "How long have we got?"

I race to open the front of her bra. "Not enough time to head upstairs." When I slide my fingers into the sides of her panties, she arches her hips, allowing me to remove the delicate item.

It's frantic, it's furious, and it's as spectacular as always. With my heart involved, it's better than ever. The sun warming my back, and Kelly hot beneath me, it's blissful.

Leaving her in the shower, I race back to work, annoyed when I have to turn the wipers on. The plan for the afternoon had been to work on replacing any damaged siding. Now we'll be stuck inside.

And while I've no aversions to being inside—my mind floods with images of Kelly and I earlier—I'd rather it not be with a half dozen sweaty men. As the afternoon progresses, the weather gets worse, along with the tempers of every guy on site.

I'm in a foul mood on leaving. Having to slosh through muddy puddles on the way to my truck does nothing to help. It's as well I have to head home to pick up clean clothes. Kelly doesn't need to deal with me when I'm like this.
