Me

I feel like one right now.

Apollo

Good. I want you to always feel that way.

My throat tightened as I fought off tears. I swear, these hormones, mixing with how sweet these men were, was a constant battle.

“We need to leave soon,” Ezra called out, knocking gently on the door.

“Coming!” I called back, glancing at the clock. I hadn’t realized that I’d been in there for almost two hours.

And not once had they complained. They truly were too good to me.

I slipped on my matching red heels. The ones they’d picked out of my closet. They were just wide enough that they didn’t bother my feet, because I swear, things were already starting to swell.

When I walked out, both of their eyes widened.

Corvin was the first to move, stepping closer and sweeping me into his arms, kissing me deep enough that he bent me backwards. My face flushed and my scent swelled around us, the caramel and toasted almonds thick in the air.

He groaned against my lips. “Don’t tempt me, siren.”

“That’s my job,” I teased, nipping at his lips before he released me.

Ezra didn’t hesitate to pull me into his arms next, teasing his lips along my neck and making me shiver.

“You guys have to stop before I can’t walk out of this room,” I argued, “I’m not missing this.”

“We’ll be on our best behavior,” Ezra lied, but he at least released me.

“Later,” Corvin promised. “When we get back, we’ll make you feel so good tonight, siren. Just be patient.”

“‘Patient’ isn’t my strong suit,” I complained, even though I was the one who told them no.

“Oh, we know,” Corvin said as he led me towards the elevators.

I tried my best to not think about their promises as we drove across town towards the concert hall where the symphony was taking place. I started to get nervous as we filed in.

The crowd was big, and the last time we were in a crowd like this, I’d spotted Cameron.

I wouldn’t let him ruin tonight.

Every worry fell away as the concert started. There was a large screen on stage behind them that projected the book covers and art associated with the scenes as the orchestra played.

Between the lights, the art, and the music, it brought the scenes to life in a way I’d never seen before.

I’ve read most of the books. By the end of the concert I had a few extras for my ridiculously long to-be-read list.

When it finished and the applause died down, they directed us toward the lobby where they were selling merch and soundtracks. I made sure to snag one, holding it up to the guys with a grin.

“Me and my friends will have one heck of a girls’ night with this,” I said proudly. “Oh, or maybe book club. It’s been a while since we’ve had a meeting.”

“That sounds perfect,” Ezra agreed as he led me through the crowd filling the lobby.

“Are you hungry? Should we get dinner now?” Corvin asked as we pushed outside again. The fresh air was perfect, but then they were close, one on either side of me so their scents chased away the smells of the city.

My mind was already going in a very different direction than food.
