Frog opened the door, while Carlos moved out of the way for me, and I ran out of the door, but Gio was right behind me. I felt his arm wrap around my waist, lifting me in the air, pulling me back inside while I screamed for help, screamed out Love’s name, praying to God it was somebody around that heard me and would tell him they heard somebody scream his name when a white rag was placed in front of my face, and everything started to slow down for me.
We were back inside the room; my legs weren’t kicking at the speed that they were seconds ago, my hands wouldn’t form a strong fist, and I couldn’t talk.
Gio tossed me on the bed in my room and walked away, leaving me there to deal with whatever he had given me, making me worry about my baby. It gave me flashbacks of when I was taken and how my motor skills were off.
I tried to sit up, but nothing was working for me. All I could do was lay there and listen to Carlos and Frog argue back and forth with Gio.
“Why the fuck you do that shit again?” Frog yelled at him.
“Don’t worry about what the fuck I am doing, worry about packing this room up.”
Gio then hopped on the phone.
“Aye, we finna get outta here; she’s trying to run back.”
Whoever Gio was talking to was making that nigga laugh and smile. They talked for a few minutes, and he never said any names but looked in my direction a few times. Once he hung up, Kev and Joe walked into the room, looking confused.
“What the fuck is going on?” Kev asked.
“Pack up,” Gio said, moving around. “We are going back to Cali.”
All them niggas stopped and looked at me lying in the other room on the bed with no movement but my chest rising up and down.
“With her?” Carlos added.
“Hell yeah, I am taking Islah with me.”
Carlos, Kev, Frog, and Joe walked around shaking their heads while I lay there lifeless. But on the inside, I was screaming no, trying to talk to my body to move a toe, a leg, a finger, something, but instead of that working, I passed out.
Chapter 6
Motion
Iwoke up to the sound of my phone ringing, knocked out on the couch in my basement. I sat up and looked at the time on the TV and saw it was around five in the morning.
By the time I picked up my phone and saw it was Keith calling me, the call ended, and he was calling back.
“Yo,” I said, answering his call, still half asleep.
“I got some news.”
That shit woke me all the way up.
“What you got? Where do I need to go?”
I heard Keith exhale. “You are not gonna like this, but you need to go holla at Jade.”
I cleared my throat. “My ho ass BM? Why the fuck I need to talk to her?”
Keith paused for a second. “Some of the YNs were around East. She was out there talking about how she was getting her baby daddy back, how she just needed a few more days to make sure the coast was clear.”
I was speechless for a second, listening to what Keith had to say.
“You still there, Lo?” he asked.
“Yeah…yeah, I was just listening. Did they hear her say anything about Islah?”
“Nah, but remember we said the nigga might be working with somebody?”
