My eye twitches.
Her smile turns tender and I swear I nearly fall at her feet.
She adores me.
“Are you really ready to go now?”
That sweet smile of hers instantly turns sassy.
“Are you?” Her eyes drift down to my dick, which is hard as a rock and that’s very obvious.
She scowls and whips her gaze behind me as I rearrange myself. I laugh at her own possessiveness but almost grunt from pain.
Didn’t think that’d make me even harder.
“Better?” I ask.
“Yes,” she grits out.
“Do you remember how to get to Annalise’s?”
Her scary look evaporates right before my eyes.
“Is that where we’re going today?”
“No. I just needed to give you a place to starshoot to. Then of course we’ll have to walk since you don’t know where you’re going.”
“Yes, I remember.”
“Meet me there then.”
“Don’t you dare lea—”
My starshoot whisks me away, leaving nothing but my laugh behind. She’ll do just fine and she likes it when I keep her on her toes.
My power releases me and I smile fondly at the house in front of me. It’s eerily quiet right now, but that’s because Annalise and the kids are walking through the market with Ellian.
Their morning routine is to ‘walk him to work.’
It’s been Annalise’s tradition since they got married centuries ago. They’d mosey through the market together and then he’d starshoot from the end of there to the Godsdawn.
Every day.
I hated it when we were first placed in their care. Hence the running away.
She always found me, though.
“Gods, you’re an ass.”
I spin around, grinning as Thayla finally shows up with her arms crossed and foot tapping.
“You always get where you need to go. Come on.” I motion my hand forward, but she looks longingly over my shoulder.
“Aww, are they not home? I was hoping to tell Annalise hey. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her.”
“They’re on their morning walk. We’ll come back another time.” I tug her along by her elbow.
“Why are you being so weird?”
