Kyzen’s sitting on the end of my bed, already changed, and ready to go. He’s smiling like he doesn’t have a worry in the realm right now.
“Yeah, but I also knew you’d be fine.”
I give him a quick kiss before making my way to my closet and stripping my wet clothes off. Creed told me I had to wear armor, just in case. I told him armor gives off the appearance we’re preparing for a fight, and he said he didn’t give a fuck. He’d rather be ready for anything.
I didn’t argue after that.
I tug on my sleeve as I make my way back out of my closet, but my steps fall still as my eyes land on my Valtrue, standing in my room, waiting for me.
They’re dressed in their Abandon best as well and my nervousness skyrockets.
Gone are the excited, power-boosted smiles.
Their faces have become masks of grave anticipation.
My chest rises and falls with my heavy exhale.
“Everything’s going to be fine. We’re giving over the Binding. The Veilatara blocked the power. Derivius is meeting us there, so the God of Obliteration has no reason to take me.”
They each muster up what words of encouragement they can.
It’s shrouded by their fear.
He doesn’t have a reason to take me. Right?

My sneer turns toward that simpering-ass voice. “Jerry, if you don’t quit interrupting my song, I’m going to offer you up as a sacrifice to our father so you can see for yourself.”
“Your—”
“Don’t,” Gladdy Daddy orders, and I shoot him a wink for his support.
I should offer him up as well.
“You doing okay, son?” Big DD asks as he peers over his shoulder at me.
“Divine.”
My little burden runs her knuckles along mine and I shiver at the delicious sensation of her skin touching me.
Now that we’ve all had this glorious boost, I can almost pinpoint the chaos sitting in the top of her belly, right under her perfect breast.
I wonder if I can coax it out.
