As if sensing her eyes on him, Swayam looked up.
Kashvi reacted instantly, reaching for the photograph. ‘Give me that.’
He lifted it out of reach, his grin unwavering.
She pinned him with a glare. ‘Must you always be so irritating?’
‘Must you always be so beautiful?’ he asked sincerely.
The photograph hovered just beyond her fingertips. If she leaned in, she could grab it, but that meant closing the distance between them completely.
Too dangerous.
With a quiet huff, she leaned back and looked away. ‘FYI, I was laughing at you,’ she muttered, pointing at the photo.
A spark of heat flickered to life in her stomach when his breath brushed against her ear. ‘Lucky me,’ he murmured, following it with a wink.
She elbowed him in retaliation but couldn’t quite hide her smile.
Kashvi forced herself to focus elsewhere and caught Luv trying to slide a photograph beneath the cushion beside him. ‘Oye, what are you doing?’ she asked suspiciously.
‘Nothing,’ Luv shot back instantly, his eyes widening.
‘You do realise answering that quickly usually means you’re guilty. We taught you to lie better than that,’ Raghav drawled in disappointment.
Kashvi leaned across and tugged the photograph free before Luv could stop her. The moment she saw it, a grin broke free.
‘I knew it!’ she declared, holding it up like a trophy. Swayam leaned over for a look and burst out laughing.
Luv groaned, dropping his head back against the cushion and covering his eyes.
‘What am I missing here?’ Abhay asked, looking between them.
‘You were busy being the groom when our friend here committed the crime of the century,’ Swayam said.
Kashvi passed it to Abhay. The photograph spoke for itself. Luv sat beside Meera, stealing ice cream straight from her plate with shameless delight.
‘You absolute traitor! I knew it was you,’ Kashvi scolded, smacking his arm.
Luv winced, rubbing the spot. ‘That proves nothing. All you see is a man eating ice cream. You don’t know where it came from.’
Raghav nearly choked on his laughter. ‘Oh please, you’re literally eating from her plate. And when you were asked about it, you blamed it on Kashvi.’
That earned Luv another hit.
‘I didn’t blame you,’ he protested. ‘I just said it was weird you had two empty bowls.’
‘One was mine,’ Swayam admitted, turning to Kashvi with a sheepish grin. ‘I’m sorry for every time I teased you about it.’
‘Oh no, you owe me much more than that,’ she argued. ‘You brought it up every time we had dessert, and that happened a lot whenever Mihu was around.’
Raghav waved the photo. ‘I cannot wait until she gets back and sees this.’
Luv’s head snapped up. ‘You wouldn’t.’
‘Oh yeah? Watch me.’
‘By the way, why did you wait until now to open these?’ Kashvi asked, flipping through another stack.
