At least I still have one hand left. I use my left hand to cut into the sac and into the webbing underneath my right hand, freeing myself as I sidestep along with the swaying spider. I take great care trying not to fuck up my good hand, but it’s hard as the spider bitch is still trying to get to me and won’t stop moving.

Once I’m free, I slice into the sac and maybe part of the spider until I see flames flare out and Reaper happily falls into my arms.

“Reaper!” He gives me quick kisses but doesn’t stay long as he growls and jumps out of my arms.

He immediately starts ripping at the spider’s legs, breaking them, and sending it crashing.Welp, I can no longer hide down here, I guess. Apparently, he wants revenge.

As Reaper runs to each leg and begins taking this thing down, I start hacking away at her abdomen as I run out. These suckers have sucked their last suck.

Yeah, I think that was cheesy too.

With that done, I wipe the blood off my leathers and run to the spider I see trying to sneak up behind Levi and JP.

‘Behind you, JP!’I scream, but I also know his arrows work better at a distance, and this thing is too close.

JP’s eyes widen as he turns and throws up a water bubble around himself and Levi as a claw swipes down at them. Instead of cutting through their body, it only rolls off Levi and JP’s bubble.

I don’t know if the God’s Trumpet has affected this voice in my head or not, or if it’s just now a part of me that I know to look for things, but I inventory the spider in front of me and notice a weakness. Its right back leg is lower and seems to be out further. That’s my way up.

‘I’m coming to take it out,’I tell JP, as I run to the leg and quickly climb the hairy stick. It kinda reminds me of the rope swings back home. This spider is so focused on trying to pop JP’s bubble that it doesn’t even feel me crawling along its back and up behind its humanoid body portion. It’s not until I jump onto its back and wrap my arm around its neck that it realizes its mistake.

“Night night,” I whisper, and I slice across its neck, allowing warm blood to spill across my forearm. I hold on tight until the monster crashes unmoving to the floor, and I can slip down safely.

“Thanks for the warning.” JP smiles as he releases them from the bubble.

“Need a clean up?” Levi calls, worry etched on his brow.

“Save it. I think Knots finally needs you.” I point up to where a few spiders are heading his way.

“Shit,” JP mumbles before sending an arrow into a spider’s back, causing it to fall to the floor. Lynx spins and stabs it in the heart before throwing it into a flurry of plants.

What the fuck have I been missing?

I jog over to Chester and Moni and find Chester using his staff to knock a spider’s legs out from under it while vines from the walls whip out and wrap around the torso. Screams rip out of multiple spiders as they are lifted and yanked towards the wall. They are slammed into the wall multiple times until they are squeezed into tiny fragments, leaving only blood and bones behind.

“What the hell?” I shriek in Moni’s direction.

“What?” she calls back innocently. “They were hungry.”

“How are they… uh.” I’m lost for freaking words.

“Alive?” Moni cocks an eyebrow.

“Yeah!”

“Me, silly,” she states while moving her hands through the air. Another vine whips through the air and grabs a spider around their throat that’s running toward Blessing. Let’s just say the vines were definitely getting enough food.

I turn and run straight into webbing dangling into my face.Ick, spider poop, exactly what I need. I push it away from my face and realize it may be sticky, but I’m not sticking to it like I did the one prior. Why is it different?

There’s a grunt and a crash, and I look up to find Knots fighting a spider. His wings are up against the wall, and he’s holding back a pincher as he slams his sword through the chest of the spider, right as a water arrow pierces their side. Within seconds, the spider’s body slides to the side and falls helplessly to the floor.

‘Another one bites the dust,’Lynx sings in my head as he turns to take on another foe.

It’s all I can do not to roll my eyes. From what I can tell, it’s almost an endless flow of spiders as they continue to trickle in. We have to close that gap, but I groan as I see Knots struggling to free himself of the webs his wings got caught on. If they are anything like the ones I was previously in, he’s fucked.

Glancing at the web hanging next to me, I get an idea. I always loved that Tarzan movie growing up. Let’s see how realistic it can be. Hopefully, I’m not making a grave mistake.

‘Hope, you’re strong enough to catch me, Knots,’I send him as I start climbing the webbing next to me.
