I could get used to this.

GOOD TO THE LAST DROP

Rez

Knox wasn’t kidding about us being late. Though, I’m not sure which one of us is the lucky one. He’s heading to his father’s office late whereas I’m going to class, without a damn note. I chuckle thinking of what the note would say.

Dear professor or whom it may concern,

Please excuse Nerezza Taylor for being late. She was stuck on a dick.

Yeah. That isn’t going to fly at all. Though, it was well worth it in the end. I lost count of how many orgasms I had and definitely received first hand experience when it comes to shifter mating. Granted, I didn’t know that’s what Fluffers had done until I was a melted pile of goo on my bed and Knox had uninflated.

Apparently with shifters, they can have sex with anyone, but knotting is when their animals have pledged themselves to their potential partner. Accepting the mating bond is simple enough, at least according to Knox. I will just have to accept his knot again. Which isn’t a hardship for me at all, not if orgasms are in store. But it’s permanent, as in more so than marriage. He also mentioned that it connects us in a way that when he explained it, sounds a lot like the connection Lynx and I have.

Knox didn’t seem too excited about it, but I’m not sure if that’s because of it being me or the idea of mating in the first place. I wouldn’t be against being bonded to him, but I would like to get to know him better before making such a massive commitment. He seems like a decent man, and at least he hasn’t lied to me, so far. I wonder if it’s like a long engagement while we get to know each other. I already know he loves animals, so he’ll love it back home around the…FUCK! I trip over my own feet and slam into the wall as the realization finally hits me. What will happen when I get the ability to get back home? Would Knox come with me? What about the other guys?

Shit.

Will they be able to come with me? I haven’t even learned about the political stuff about that. Didn’t Moni say something about earning a higher score allows you to live on Earth permanently? What if we all score differently? What about Moni? For some reason, I had a feeling that while she explained it she was talking as if she was doomed to never be able to go. Will I have to choose between Earth and my friends here?

No.

I shake my head furiously, pushing off the wall and heading towards my next class. There’s no way I’ll give this another thought about choosing. I will cross that bridge when I get there. For now, I’m just going to be happy with where I’m at and where I’m going.

Which brings me back to Knox. At least I wasn’t the only one with a new decoration adorning a part of their body after our tumble in the sheets. I left with a mate mark at the base of my neck while Knox has one of the best tramp stamps I’ve ever seen. We figured it happened during his first orgasm. On his tailbone now resides a red horse with his rider dressed in a shadowy cloak holding a flaming white sword. A memory resurfaced as Knox had to check out his new tattoo.

War steps up in front of me next, wearing his shadowy cloak. His hood is pulled low so I can only see the black stubble over his jaw. He takes my hands and brings them to his lips. I feel his breath along my knuckles as he speaks, “Rage shall be thy weapon as your hands wield it so.”

Knox took the tattoo better than I would have guessed. When he saw it in the mirror, he tensed up. But once he turned and gave me a blank look, I lost it as laughter bubbled out of me. His eyes sparkled, and that was the only warning I got before he pounced, tickling me until I called a truce. I took a chance and asked Knox what he thought of his new tattoo as we got dressed. All he did was shrug and say that he might ask his dad about it later, but it’s Purgatory and things like this happen all the time. I guess I’ll have to take his word on it since I’m not from here. Before I can second guess telling him about my thoughts on the tattoo, he gave me a panty-melting kiss and rushed out the door saying his dad was going to kill him.

Heading to my classroom, I notice the hall has changed once again. Ahh fuck.Doesn’t something bad always happen when the hallways do this shit to me?This is just my luck, but what did I expect after missing as many classes as I have. Retracing my steps, I go back the way I came and turn the corner, only to find a dead end.

What the fu—?

The lights flicker and go out. For a prestigious academy, you would think they would have better lighting.

Do I need to start carrying a flashlight with me everywhere I go?

Moving over to one side, I reach out to feel the wall and am met with something soft instead.Okay. Don’t lose your shit, Rez. It’s probably Lisa just playing a trick on you again.

“Lisa?” my voice comes out shaky. I try to slow my breathing but my heart beats out of my chest as I quickly remove my hand. I back up and move to the opposite wall, hitting a solid object that’s definitely also not a wall. Turning around, my hair rustles as a burst of air hits me from above. I look up just as the lights flicker on long enough to catch a glimpse of a monster.

Levi

I can feel myself slipping from my tightly wound package and I’m not sure that’s a good thing. From the conversation Father and I just had, he seems to think so, but it will be a learning curve to figure out how to balance work and play. Or in my case, my emotions and how to let them show and what to keep locked up tight.

He had called me to his office during last period to talk. It hasn’t escaped his notice that “our family,” meaning my brothers and I, haven’t been the same lately. Since he also acted as our academy therapist, I unloaded on him. Of course, it helps that he can read my feelings and interpret what I’m trying to convey. I found myself more lost for words than I have ever been.

He also wanted to catch me up on Lilith since I was the one that discovered her possession. While I was with him, the thought did cross my mind to bring up Lilith’s essence, but I had caught a slip of emotion from him that made me hesitate. He was exhausted and scared. For the first time, I easily picked up his emotion while he had his walls up. I was either becoming stronger in my powers or Lilith’s condition was really affecting him, allowing me to easily pick up on those emotions. Stunned, I sat back and just listened as he caught me up on her progress.

He also caught me up on Lilith. Since Lilith is the original demon, and possession isn’t unheard of—though no one thought that could happen to her—they were seeking out the Fates. He was able to find out with the help of some close friends that one of the Fates had prophesied this exact thing. So they are looking for her to gain some answers. Which is another problem, because they can’t easily get ahold of the one they need anymore.

There are bouts of moments when Lilith is lucid; which is a new development and she asks for Anwen. She all but refuses to talk to the Fate that does show up. My guess is, Anwen is the one that had the prophecy to begin with. They mostly keep her asleep and comfortable from what I’m told. Father is talking about taking her to Hell and keeping her in her chambers there, letting L.A.M.B watch her. A shiver runs through my body as I remember Lilith’s best friends. I’ve met those guys a few times. They are nice enough, but if you get on their bad side, the next time someone sees you, your skin will be the new back holster holding Beelzebub’s machete.

No thanks.
