Seeing through multiple eyes takes some getting used to, but it should be worth it to see my spitfire. With enough power, a Necromancer can raise and control the dead. If I concentrate enough, I’m able to look through the dead’s eyes and see what they do. It’s a little disorienting at first, but with practice, I can easily slip into the creature's mind and observe what I need to without leaving my lab.
Red filters across my vision as I take control of the newly risen creature I summoned while I watch Rez and JP tumble into her bedroom, naked. Their mouths fuse together in heated passion as they grope each other. It would be obvious to anyone that this is their round two, or at least not the first time they’ve been intimate. Disgust, doubt, and jealousy hit me out of nowhere.Wait, I should be happy for them? It’s one step closer for all of us to share her.
‘No one will want to share with you. Look, they haven’t even noticed you’ve been gone for so long,’the voice inside of me whispers, feeding the doubt coursing through me.
Over the past few days I’ve been gaining experience raising the dead in the forest. It also seems to satisfy the pain my darker side has been craving. Though they only live for a few hours, I feel my powers growing. Just this morning, I raised an extinct Deathweaver. The textbooks that mentioned them come close to their description, but it’s nothing like watching one form before your own eyes.
When it took its amorphous form—hidden underneath folds of darkness—it was intriguing to see how it manipulates the darkness and shadows at will. The body underneath the darkness is split into two sections. The upper half is more spider-like with eyes that allow it to see in 360 degrees as well as in the dark. A fanged mouth on the underside is filled with poisonous barbs. The lower section is nothing but long tentacles that have the capabilities to morph into long claws allowing them to climb or cut through their enemies.
This is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done in my life, raising a Deathweaver to spy on Rez.‘But feel the power you have coursing through your veins! That heat. The energy surging to be used. It’s a gentle caress, is it not?’the voice in my head coaxes.
It’s not wrong, just raising the beast in his stationary form gives me that power boost, like a volt of electricity or that second wind you receive during your run. It’s a different type of high that you don’t want to turn away from.
‘That power that you feel right now? It’s only a taste, a sip of what’s out there. Let’s see what this Deathweaver can do.’
This creature takes a little bit longer to get used to before I can maneuver it and get the hang of moving him across the forest. But with the guidance of that tiny voice and my willpower, I get him to slither back to the dorms to see what my firecracker was up to. Though, I was not expecting this.
Taking a deep breath, I try to remain calm and count back from ten. Losing control of a Deathweaver’s conscious mind would be the worst thing to do right now. I can’t watch anymore, the hurt is unbearable. To see both my lovers sharing each other while I wither away here in pain. I—I can’t. Reaching out to the creature's mind, I grab enough of it’s attention to send it on a path back to the forest.
‘Can’t believe that not only does Rez not care, but your best friend hasn’t even noticed you're gone either. Your lover! I guess you really are alone, huh?’the voice hisses out the truthful poison that’s become my life.
My thoughts falter and I lose control of the Deathweaver’s mind for a moment. Although I can still see out of its eyes, I’ve lost control and there’s no way to get it back unless I’m within my power range. I’m growing stronger, but I’m nowhere close enough to reach out and grab control from here.
FUCK!
Opening my eyes, I break the connection for a brief second as I look around my Necromancer lab. I need to get out of here and find that Deathweaver before it hurts someone. Lisa is already up by the door, like she knows what I need to do, her tongue lolling out of her mouth.
‘No. What you need is more power and to do that, you need your creations tofeed. The more they consume, the more power you will get from them before they perish and therefore the stronger we will become.’
Shaking my head furiously, I stumble towards the door and Lisa lets out a screeching sound. She dives for me as my vision turns black for a moment. My blood turns ice cold as cackling spills from my throat, and my fear spikes to a new high with what happens next.
“It’s okay, Ezekiel. I’ve got it from here,” the haunting voice rings out in the barren room. The voice from my head is no longer trapped there. I try to blink my eyes but find I’ve lost control of my body. With a thunderous growl, Lisa rushes me, knocking us to the floor while she sinks her teeth into my fleshy shoulder, causing us to scream in pain. The agony from her bite allows me to gain control once again.
“Good girl, Lisa,” I praise her through gritted teeth. The burning in my shoulder is the least of my worries. What was that?I no longer feel the voice or presence in my head, but I’m not sure where it’s gone either. I have no idea and I don’t want to find out. But me losing control has wiped me out completely. I feel like I’m a newborn learning how to move all over again. Propping myself up on my good shoulder, Lisa gets behind me and helps me to my feet.
It’s a slow process, but we get to the door and start down the dirt path towards the tree entrance. We both stop when the air changes with the swoosh of the trap door at the end opening and closing. There is no way in Hell that anyone knows where this place is. The only other person that knows, or did know, was my alter ego or that voice in my head. So what else is down here with us?
The howls and fiery glow gives me a good enough guess as to what it could be. The head of the first beast rounding the corner has me struggling to pull Lisa back with me into our fortress. Lisa is pretty much invincible according to the journal I have been reading, but of course everyone has one weakness, and standing roughly a hundred feet away is hers.
The skeleton on all fours is made out of black bones, shiny like obsidian, and where the bone is missing, lava fills the gap, completing the frame. The magma falls and sizzles along the dirt floor. Pieces of rotting flesh still hang in slabs off of the flanks of the ribs, but the spikes along the spine are deadly sharp—like armor plating all the way down to the tail where it ends in four spikes like a stegosaurus. Flames rage in their soulless eyes and their teeth are dripping green acid. In normal circumstances, Lisa could take creatures like these on, but something about death affects them differently.
Hellhounds.
Someone has brought dead Hellhounds to Purgatory Prep. Three more appear behind the first one and my heart disappears into my throat. I turn to Lisa to plead my case and hopefully get her to listen to me. Pulling on her shoulder blade, frantically I whisper, “Lisa. Come on. We have to go back.” Lowering her shoulder, she slowly drops me and gently pushes me behind her, using her rear leg. “No!” I shout, trying to get up to help, but my vision starts to flicker. Blackness—then a vision of a girl walking—blackness—long claws at the end of tentacles slicing through the girl. No! The last things I hear as my vision goes black is a mixture of screams, laughter, and the commotion of a fight a few feet away from me.

DISAPPEARING VAMPS?
Levi
Letting out a frustrated breath, I run my fingers through my hair. I fucked up. I’m a complete fuck up. There’s no denying that, but questions still plague me on how to fix it. A part of me denies any responsibility when it comes to Nerezza since I was just following orders. Although, that deep recess I keep behind my vault doors tells me otherwise. No wonder Nerezza calls me a vault. Well, called me a vault. I’m locked up so tight I can’t see past my own nose. I so willingly followed Lilith’s plans and justified it as an excuse to get closer to Nerezza and see where it might lead. Was I really to blame? Could I have done something differently? Did Nerezza really have a reason to be mad? I did explain that she was an anomaly, and they wanted to either lock her up or send her to school. Could she really be angry at us for watching her? Looking at it that way…SHIT.
There’s no denying it, no matter which way I look. “I fucked up, and I don’t know where to start to correct it,” I mutter to myself.
“Well, you’re not going to find the answer in those,” Ryker says, leaning up against my door frame. He swaggers into my bedroom and picks up a couple of the books out of the fifty that are sprawled over my bed, reading the covers. “Let’s see what you got here. How to mend relationships. 100 Facts to Know about Women.Well, at least you don’t need to readHow to please your woman,” Ryker says, eyeing the collection of books. Sliding said book under my pillow before he notices, I clear my throat.
