“Fate,” JP nervously whispers.

It would almost be comical to see Levi and Zeke’s eyes both go wide as they drop to their knees, if it wasn’t for the dire situation.

“Rise and listen.”

The men all jump up and it means the world that Levi doesn’t even try to wipe the mud and grass off his pants as they look upon me. They are worthy men. Though they will only see my long white hair and dark hands now, I will save my unveiling of my true form for another time.

“You are needed elsewhere. What you all seek is not where you are looking. Come with me so you can save her.”

“That depends. Who are you?” Zeke questions with a squint, trying to get a better look at me. Zeke, being my fiery soul, asks the one question I would be glad to answer.

“I am Anwen.”

Nodding his consent, he places his hand in my outstretched one, and Levi and JP follow.

In the blink of an eye, I transport us to our destination. Even as a Fate, I am limited by how much assistance I can give.

“Where are we?” Levi asks, looking around at the cave entrance and the forest behind us.

“Are we even on school property?” Zeke questions, looking into the cave.

“What about Knox and Ryker?” JP asks me as he pulls out his phone, “They will need to be here too.”

Ahh. Now he’s the one I will give the answers to. Turning to look at JP, I lightly run my fingers over his forehead.

“To answer your questions, you are at the forgotten mountain pass. And they are already at their destination and safe. I’m giving you the knowledge to find them, just trust your instincts, Jacques.”

Knowing that they will soon meet up with Rez, I step back and cloak myself.

“Does anyone else feel intimidated in her presence, or is it just me?” Zeke asks, turning back and looking into the cave.

“It’s just you,” JP laughs and hugs him. “Kidding.”

“I guess you’re leading the way,” Levi says, casting a glowing orb into the air where it floats in front of him.

“I guess so,” JP confirms as I watch them take a step toward a new chapter into this chaotic storm I’m trying to fix.

THREESOME TO DIE FOR

Rez

Iwake up on a pulsating bed which turns out to be Bas shaking so violently that I slide off him and land with an ‘oomph’ on the hard floor. He gets up and stands at the cave’s entrance. His hooves spark as thunder rumbles from his chest in warning, so I pull myself from the floor, quickly shaking out my stiff muscles as I back away from the fire.

Even through the rain fall, I can hear whatever beast is making its way up to our hiding spot. A vicious growl rings out right outside our entrance, and Bas answers with sparks of lightning shooting from his hooves.

“Rez?”

Did I just hear my name?

There is no way that I’m hearing that right, but I move closer to the entrance.

“Rez are you in there? Please tell me you are because Fluffers is spazzed out, and it looks like you have a guard stag protecting an empty hole if you’re not,” Ryker’s voice rings out and I break out in a smile.

I rush to the entrance of the cave to see a drenched Ryker and a clearly irritated Fluffers with his haunches up and baring his fangs standing in the rain. I don’t even second guess running out to meet them. Ryker easily catches me as I fling myself to him and bury my face into his neck.

“How did you find me?” I ask, shocked that they did.
