“Um. I mean, if you’re comfortable with that,” he says hesitantly.

“Oh, it’s not that, Zeke,” I smile in reassurance. “I would love to go out with you. I was just thinking of how much I would love to, but these boots are killing me,” I lift my foot to show him what I was talking about.

“Oh. Well, I can always do a rain check,” he shrugs as his smile slightly falls.

An idea pops in my head, and hopefully, it doesn’t come across too forward since I just met him yesterday.

“How about you come to my dorm? I’m sure we can order food or something. Plus, you can see how our dorm is decorated. JP ordered a bunch of stuff yesterday, and I’m curious as to how it looks,” I give him a shy smile.

“I’m cool with that.” His wide smile returns, and he runs his hand through his faux hawk. Reassured now that I want to spend more time with him, he pulls me into his side and his peppermint smell engulfs me as we start walking back to the dorms. I cuddle into his side, enjoying his arm wrapped around me. Does this mean we’re inching closer to that R-rated stuff? I mean I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I like him and he’s funny, and definitely good-looking—right up my alley.

“So, what are you hungry for?” Zeke asks, looking down into my eyes excitedly, keeping me tight to his side.

It would be so wrong of me to say ‘you,’wouldn’t it?Gah, my hormones are off the chart right now.

“I don’t know. It’s only my second day here, and I’m not sure what all there is. Besides, I’m not even sure how we’re going to order,” I laugh. “On Earth I would just use a phone app, or drive by and pick it up. I still have no clue how things work around here.” I try to shrug, but with being pressed up against Zeke, I just end up bumping his arm.

“Oh yeah. I forgot about that. We use phones just like you do back on Earth. It might take some time, but I’ll look into getting you one,” he says, and I raise an eyebrow at that. Don’t they go to the store and buy them like everyone else back home? It makes no sense why he can’t take me to the cell phone store and I can pick out one just like everyone else. But I’m too tired to deal with it tonight.

“How about Greek food?” he asks, opening the door to the dorms and letting me step in.

“Sounds good,” I say, pressing the button for the elevator. Zeke steps up and wraps me in his arms right as the elevator doors open up, revealing the bellhop as the devil herself.

“Oh, look who it is. Gonna fuck up someone else’s hook up?” The red heeled barbie asks. She walks out of the elevator wearing a sheer tunic top with no bra, and leather pants while she sneers at me. Still wearing her namesake, I see.

“Only if it’s yours. It seems like it’s in my contract for staying here. Who knew,” I say with a shrug and give her my biggest smile.

“If you get in my way again… I’ll—” Her palm opens, and inside is a small flame.

Unconcerned, I step into the elevator and push the button for my floor before I turn and give her an amused look. “Oh, I’m sorry,” I laugh. “I don’t know who gave you the wrong information, but I don’t smoke, and I suggest you don’t either. It’s only going to make you look older. You’re already pushing 50, right? I would cut back,” I say as the door slides shut on the red faced bitch.

Zeke lets out a boisterous laugh, causing me to almost jump out of my skin.

“What?” I give him a weary glance to find he’s wiping tears from his face.

“That was priceless. Come here buttercup,” Zeke reaches for me and pulls me into him again. “I’ve never seen anyone shut up the revolving door before,” he says in wonder, still chuckling.

Revolving door? Hmm. Yeah, I could see how that fits her, especially after she commented about me fucking up hook ups around here.

“Do I even want to know why you call her the revolving door?” I ask, looking up at him.

He smirks down at me, “I’m sure you don’t need me to spell it out for you.”

“Yeah, I get it. I like my term of endearment better, though.” I bite my lower lip to keep from cackling like a demented witch.

Reaching my stop, we step out onto my floor, and thankfully, Emer isn’t around.

“Oh yeah. What’s that?” Zeke asks, reaching for my hand as we walk down the hall.

“Harpies! Queen Harpy is Emer,” I admit proudly, and Zeke chuckles.

“I like it. I’m going to adopt it now,” he says and gives me a wink.

We walk over to my room, and Zeke leans against the wall when I hear a chuckle. Confused, I look over at Zeke, and he’s taking in the decor in the hallway, which isn’t much.

“So, I see you’re bringing home a guy within your first 24 hours? WOW! You’re so classy.”I look around for the rough voice that is definitely not Zeke’s, but I don’t see anyone.

Excuse me?Annoyed with the commentary, I press my finger against the hole in the door frame, and nothing happens.
