Callie is loungingon the couch when I walk into the living room.

Good. We need to talk.

“You almost gave me away,” I snap, irritation blooming through me.

Callie doesn’t even look up from her phone. “I didn’t know he was here,” she says, completely unbothered. “It was after one in the morning.”

“That’s not the point.”

“It feels like the point,” she counters, finally glancing up at me. “If I had known yourtargetwas standing in my kitchen, I would’ve adjusted.”

I narrow my eyes. “He’s not a target.”

Callie grins. “Right. He’s your future husband. My mistake.”

“You almost had a restraining order against you,” I say, my hands on my hips. “Your first semester at college.”

She wrinkles her nose. “And you’re controlling and boring.”
