“Fuck yeah,” Niamh hollers, “And while you’re at it, kick him in the nuts.”

“Niamh,” Roman chuckles.

“What?” she huffs.

I chuckle and pat her hand, “Maybe I should send Ada up there.”

“Oh yeah, you should,” Niamh agrees. “That woman can kick some serious ass.”

“The new cutter?” Silas frowns.

Roman nods, but then his phone buzzes from his pocket, and he steps away, answering a FaceTime call.

“Why the fuck isn’t anyone answering my texts?” A deep voice fills the room, a little tinny coming through the tiny speaker of the phone, and I glance up, seeing a dark-haired man with a mustache filling the screen. He’s younger than the two Knight brothers in the room with me, but there’s no denying the three of them are related. This must be Remy Knight, the youngest of the three of them and the world-famous bronco rider.

“We’ve been busy,” Roman tuts, “Shit to do.”

“Too busy for your own brother,” he huffs, offended. “I’d like to note I came home for your ass, and this is how you treat me.”

“Stop being so dramatic,” Silas grunts, shaking his head. Roman tilts the phone toward Silas so Remy can see him.

“Dramatic my ass,” Remy starts, but then goes silent before he loudly hollers, “Who the fuck isthat?”

Roman spins the camera away.

“Is she single?” I hear Remy ask, and my cheeks immediately heat. A low, growling noise rumbles out of Silas’s throat.

“No, the fuck she is not,” he snaps, letting go of my hands to stand and look over Roman’s shoulder totell his younger brother off, “Keep your eyes to yourself.”

“Is sheyourgirl?” Remy asks.

At this, Silas goes quiet while I shift on the couch. I’m not his girl; sleeping together once and sharing a couple of kisses doesn’t make us anything at all.

I’m leaving anyway.

“Pass the phone to her; I want to talk,” Remy demands.

“No,” Silas snaps.

“What do you mean,no?” Remy replies, and it’s like watching a game of ping-pong. They volley back and forth, bites and growls that don’t really appear to be made in anger, but there’s a little tension there too.

“You get used to it,” Niamh settles back onto the cushions. “Short of banging their heads together, you just need to let them get on with it.”

“So, sheisyour girl,” I hear Remy say, “Just say that next time.”

“Remy,” Silas scolds.

“I mean she won’t be when she meets me,” he continues.

“Remy,”Silas growls, the scolding harsher now, “You’ll stay the fuck away from her.”

I hear a shit-stirring chuckle sound through the speaker, “Why? You afraid she’ll like me more than your grumpy ass?”

“Are you two…?” Niamh asks quietly by my side.

I give a soft shake of my head and then a shrug, “I’m leaving.”

Her lips purse, “That doesn’t answer my question.”
