I don’t find this funny. This dude isn’t putting his hand on my girl. Personally, I would have preferred a female.

The guys tend to get too rough as if trying to prove they’re masculine. In the end, I never enjoy a massage from a guy. Ialways feel like it’s a waste of time and leaves me more tense than when I started.

“Sorry, but one of the girls called out. Ricki has a range from light to hard touch. We hope he will be a suitable replacement for your couples massage,” the chick says.

I grunt, still pissed, but not wanting to fuck up our date. I glare at the dude, daring him to go near Oni. Nodding for him to move to the table waiting for me, I then walk over to the other bed.

They ask us a few questions then excuse themselves from the room so Oni and I can climb on the tables under the sheets. I look to her as she lies on her back laughing. I wish I had something to toss at her.

“What’s so funny?”

“Nothing.”

“Then why are you laughing your ass off?”

“You’re still crazy jealous. I don’t know why I thought that would change.”

“It wouldn’t eat you up that she’d have her hands all over my body?” I tease.

“Nope, because if you so much as moan, I’d slap the shit out of you,” she deadpans.

I burst into laughter. However, she’s now glaring at me. I shake my head.

“This might have been a bad idea,” I chuckle.

“Not at all. Thank you, Rico. This is sweet. Enjoy your massage. I’m just joking … maybe.”

“Maybe.” I snort. “You would have nothing to worry about, trust me.”

“I do.”

I grunt and settle in for our massages as the two reenter the room. We fall silent as our session gets started. For the first timein a long time, I find I’m not angry, not thinking of what I need to handle next. I’m in the moment and at peace.

When the massage is over, we make our way to the private sauna room. Oni and I quickly down the lemon water they have waiting for us. We then take our seats inside and settle in.

Feeling totally relaxed, I lean my head back and close my eyes. My mind drifts to Oni’s mother. I don’t know how she’s going to take our engagement. Neither does Oni.

It’s something we’ve talked about a few times. I’d be lying if I said I’m not anxious about her return to New York. I love her daughter and can’t see my life without her again.

“What are you thinking about?”

I open my eyes to find Oni settling her naked body over my lap. We lock gazes as I place my hands on her waist. I glide my hands up her sides, savoring her soft skin.

“Our future. I can’t wait to meet your mom.”

“She’s going to have the shock of her life,” she laughs.

“I think it will be okay. She’ll love me like I’m sure my mother will love you.”

I don’t mention to her that my mother has seen her around in Italy and has been curious about who she is. However, my mother stays out of business.

Now that she knows Oni is my fiancée, she’s dying to meet her. I can’t wait until we get all of this out of the way and can start planning our wedding. Emilia has already been calling my phone to gush about the engagement party Uncle Emilio is throwing for us.

Oni looks back at me with a wary expression. “I don’t know. I’m dropping you and an engagement into my mother’s lap all at once.”

“We will handle it. Besides, at the end of the day, nothing can take you away from me. We’re getting married no matter who doesn’t like it.”

“Don’t be so sure. My mother will hit you upside your head with a frying pan about me.”
