When Phillips just stared at him, he shook him hard. "Yes, I understand."

"Depending on how well you cooperate will determine your fate when you are faced with me again." Sloan’s fist hit the wall beside Phillips’s head so hard that the concrete cracked. Phillips screamed, his entire body jerking against the restraints. "Don't make a fourth mistake motherfucker." He warned his voice cold.

Sloan glared at him for a long time and made damn sure the fucker saw his fangs gleaming. He wanted nothing more than to kill the son of a bitch right there and now, but he had to makesure Phillips was telling him everything. The only way he could do that was Adam.

Turning away before he changed his mind, Sloan grabbed his sunglasses off the table and walked to the door. His hand rested on the knob for a second before he looked back at the bastard.

“I’ll be seeing you... real soon.”

He opened the door, walked out, and closed it behind him.

Rafe and King walked out of the observation room, both of their eyes black with anger.

“I’ll have him transferred to Cincinnati,” Rafe said, then cursed under his breath. “Every human mate to a Warrior is a target.”

Sloan was still trying to calm his ass down and not walk back in there to do exactly what he wanted to do and that was tear the motherfucker apart.

“Yeah,” he managed to say, then looked at King. “Daniel was fucking right. They’re still trying to duplicate him.”

King’s jaw tightened as he gave a short nod.

Sloan looked back at the door. Phillips was still breathing on the other side of it, and that pissed him off. But Becky needed answers. Adam needed to get inside the bastard’s head. And Sloan needed to find out who this Mercer fuck was.

His revenge on Phillips could wait...for now.

Sloan turned to Rafe. “Thank you, friend.” He clapped him on the back. “I owe you.”

“You don’t owe me shit,” Rafe replied as they started down the hall. “I’ve got my private plane ready to take you back. Caseyis going to take you to the airport so King can get back to his family.”

“How the hell did you get a private plane?” Sloan glanced at Rafe with a cocked eyebrow.

“I’m a rich son of a bitch.” Rafe gave him a half grin. “That’s how.”

Sloan nodded with a smirk, but didn’t say anything else. The faster he could get back to Becky, the better. His mate had been through hell, and he was done being away from her.

“King, get your family and come back,” Rafe said as they stepped outside and headed toward the SUV. “You can fly back when we transfer that bastard to Cincy. We have a separate holding area for him so your mate doesn’t have to see him.”

“I’ll take you up on that.” King nodded, then shook Rafe’s hand. “I appreciate it.”

King got into the SUV, giving Sloan a nod through the window. Sloan returned it before turning back to Rafe.

“Go take care of your mate.” Rafe reached out, pulling Sloan into a manly hug. “We’ll get this bastard back to you intact. I’m also going to get my men on this. I’ll talk to the Guardian leader in the area and give him the name Mercer. Keep me informed on what else you get out of that son of a bitch.”

“I will.” Sloan pulled back.

Sloan got into the passenger seat as King started the SUV. He looked back once at the compound, knowing Phillips was inside, alive only because Sloan needed him that way.

The drive to the airport was quiet. Sloan pulled out his phone and stared at Becky’s name. He wanted to hear her voice, but he also knew himself well enough to know the rage was still too close to the surface. Putting his phone in his pocket, he stared out the window, inventing new ways of torture because he would find those responsible no matter how long it took, and when he did...there would be no mercy.

CHAPTER 22

Becky slowly awoke, then stretched, keeping her eyes closed. She had barely slept; she missed Sloan so much. She had probably slept a whole half hour, then got up, showered, brushed her teeth and laid back down. The shower had relaxed her enough to sleep, but as she slowly opened her eyes, she noticed it was still dark outside.

As her eyes adjusted, she noticed a shadow across from her sitting in a chair.

"Sloan," she whispered, blinking a few times.

"You expecting someone else?" His voice warmed her like nothing else could. He felt like home, and she immediately felt content.
