We both shake and shudder and not because we’re cold. The water raining down on us is still warm and the heat from his release radiates inside me.
“That was…” He trails off, his voice awe-struck and gravelly. “Do you think I got you pregnant?”
I roll my lips together, amused at his desperation to give me his baby—like a typical Jones boy—and excited at the prospect of being pregnant.
“I don’t know. Hopefully.”
“I know so.” He sounds so certain, buried inside me when his lips find the underside of my jaw, peppering delicate kisses between words. “I.”Kiss. “Just.”Kiss. “Made you.”Kiss. “A mommy.”

Will
“Let’sjust check once and see.”
Sitting beside me in the private jet Mom and Dad chartered for their Seattle-based guests, Drew swivels in her seat to look at me. One brow raised in that unimpressed way she does so well.
“Will. It’s been less than four hours since we started trying. No test is that good.”
She peers over her shoulder at Silas and Vesper who are sitting across the aisle. Turning back to me, she lowers her voice. “You need to exercise some patience.”
Drew wants to keep the fact that we’re trying a secret from everyone—even family—until she’s twelve weeks.
Does she not know me well enough yet?
I’m around thirty seconds from making an announcement that we’re procreating, keeping an actual pregnancy quiet for three months is not in my skillset.
“Do you feel any different?” I ask, grasping at straws.
She nods, and my heart leaps into my throat.
“Yes, William. I now feel annoyed that you keep asking me to take a test when there is zero chance of it reading as positive.”
I sit back in my seat as Drew starts talking to Vesper about her birthing plan for her official due date next month.
“Do you think it’s more likely to happen if we fuck at thirty-thousand feet?” I whisper into her right shoulder so only she can hear me.
Drew pauses her sentence, bright blue eyes much darker than when I last looked at them.
Since we’re not in a position to truthfully explain where we’re going, I silently unclip her seat belt, take her by the hand, and lead her toward the restroom.
“Will,” Drew hisses. “Do you know how obvious this looks to everyone?”
I glance over her shoulder at the rest of the cabin.
Vesper has gone back to watching whatever movie she has playing, Silas is listening to something through his headphones, and Mason is asleep, having crawled out of bed just before we needed to catch a ride to the airport, and hasn’t said two words to anyone since last night. Tristan is typing into his phone, likely using the onboard WIFI to message a girl about a hookup, and our recently traded goalie, Rhys Sharpe, is staring off into the distance.
“No one cares what we’re doing,” I tell her, pushing into the bathroom and locking the door behind us.
God bless my parents for booking a jet with a sizeable bathroom. I’m sure my sex-life was at the top of their priority list.
Drew squeals when I hoist her onto the black marble counter next to the sink and hitch up her yellow summer dress.
Her bottom lip disappears between her teeth as she watches me unloop my belt and push my jeans and boxers to the floor.
