“—wrong, Lily?” Olivia asks, peeking over my shoulders to see what could have petrified me. Then she says, “Oh.”

I shove the phone back in my pocket, my entire face on fire. “It’s not what you think,” I rush to say. “I—err?—”

Liv’s eyebrow arches elegantly as she waits for me to explain how she could have misinterpreted “choke on my cock.” When I fail to say anything else, she tells me, “You…have somewhere to be, by the sound of it. And it’s pretty late. Come on, Jack.”

“Wait, what?” He frowns over his paper. “What do you mean, somewhere to be? It’s the middle of the night.”

“We’re not twelve, Jackson,” Olivia tells him, taking his eyebrows. “College people do things in the middle of the night.”

“But—” he protests, as my friend drags him to his feet and out of my dorm room.

I’m grateful to Lily for not prying and for getting Jack out of here quickly, but now I don’t have any distraction from the fact that I’ve been summoned to the Shark House to give a blowjob to Hector Cross.

Fuck me.

CROSS

Ismile as I watch her, from the moment she exits her room to her paranoid walk through the campus at night. She looks over her shoulder twice at the slightest noise. Silly girl. No one on campus would dare touch her. They know she’s mine. While I’m not known for the kind of unhinged actions that keep the wolves at bay, I am one of Markus Goltz’s friends. People generally assume that I’m crazy by osmosis, or at the very least, that I’ll happily set Markus on anyone who displeases me.

They’re not wrong.

“Dude, are you logged on to campus security?” Nate asks, peeking over my shoulder, the dick.

I shrug. “And?”

He chuckles. “And you need to give me access. I also have a nerd to stalk.”

I consider him, considering. “What’s it worth to you?”

He sighs. “Can’t you do it ’cause you like me?”

I chuckle. “I might if I did like you.”

In truth, Nathaniel Carmichael is just about the only shark I can stand, so I’ll likely send him a link eventually, but I decide to make him sweat first.

On my screen, Lily’s talking to the guard at the gate, arguing with him. Shit, I should have warned him to expect her. But to my surprise, the guy buzzes her through. We pay for state-of-the-art security and they just let some chick pass? I wonder what she said to him.

Lily has no issue finding the Shark House, and she enters the juvenile code the current president set up before crossing the lawn next to our Olympic-size heated pool.

A few seconds, minutes at most, and she’ll be here. She can likely already hear the music blasting through the lounge. I pocket my phone and move through the throng of dancing bodies to grab myself a drink, ignoring Nate, who follows me with a knowing grin.

“So smooth,” he praises. “So casual. One would think you don’t even know she’s coming. You forgot all about it.”

I shrug. “Not all of us are into making chicks freak out, Carmichael. No wonder you can’t get laid.”

“Excuse you, I just fucked three chick and a guy upstairs, while you watched,” he reminds me.

“If you think I was watching you, you’re sincerely deluded. No one wants to see your tiny balls.”

He gasps and starts to whine, just like I knew he would. “You know I’m sensitive about nut size, dick! Besides, I make up for it with my eight-inch cock.”

“If you say so.”

I’m barely paying attention to his rant as my eyes take in the woman who walks into our house, dark hair in a messy bun, wearing the same beige A-line skirt and teal blouse she had on all day. She tugs the sleeve of the first guy she comes across and gets to her tiptoes to speak to him over the beat blasting from our speaker. Understandably misunderstanding the situation, as he’s plastered, high, and everyone else is here to party, Hayden effortlessly lifts her up and kisses her, hips grinding againsthers. I laugh as I watch her freeze first, then push against him, shrieking so loud I can hear her over the music.

“Let me down, you brute! Let me go!”
