The time I get alone is peaceful. I get to reflect on how my time here has been and how I somehow crave being used by this man. How I need his approval, his dominance, and his care.

I was scared at first that he was going to treat me poorly, especially since I woke up after my punishment that first day in a kennel. But he’s been nothing but good to me unless I’m being punished.

After dinner he lays me on the couch beside him, resting my head on his thigh. He just spends however long we sit there together stroking my hair or the side of my face with a delicate touch like he would with an actual pet.

Every single night the act almost puts me to sleep. I have to jolt myself awake to prevent it. I’ve learned that if I fall asleep anywhere other than in bed, I wake up in the kennel. I don’t like waking up alone and in a cage that I’m unable to open.

I like waking up in this man’s strong arms.

Adler decides when we go to bed and I’m usually fighting to keep my eyes open while he walks me back to his bedroom and guides me to his bed. From there I’m usually tied up and fucked until I have no energy left.

I think I like this life we're having, even if it is temporary.

Chapter 9

Adler

The last few days have been spectacular, Violet is a wonderful pet and excellent company.

I even find myself working less just to spend time with her. Today, for example, I had five meetings set up. I sent Brice to all but one, the one I could do on the phone.

I was going to leave Violet to rest while I was on my call, but I couldn't, I missed her. So now we're both in my office. She's curled up on my lap in my comfortable chair, her head resting on one shoulder while I talk on the phone with my other hand.

“I don't care, Mr. Morse. You asked for the premium package, the highest security for your business, and the most cyber security we offer. It's not my fault that we found out about the money laundering.” I argue.

Kellan Morse runs a printing company, newspapers, and books I believe. He was worried about his associates stealing from him when he called me. Turns out, no, they were not stealing. His business partner was just slowing down their money laundering to make their sales increase less suspicious.

Kellan barks something about me being a con, trying to blackmail him for more money to keep quiet. It's ironic since I never asked for more.

“Need I remind you; I didn't ask for more money. I didn't threaten to turn you in or even to shut down your illegal business. I simply informed you of what was happening, as you asked.” I argue back.

Violet adjusts on my lap, curling herself further into me the longer this phone call goes on. I can't even imagine how she's comfortable when she's curled up like a cat on a windowsill. But I find myself smiling down at her while my client furiously yells into the phone.

She still has her head on my shoulder, making me feel her breath on my neck. Her legs are pulled up as close to her chest as she can manage, and her arms are tucked into her chest. I, however, have an arm around her while my fingers leisurely stroke her pussy.

He yells about his money coming from the brothel, about charging $300 a night for each escort and that's where the money is coming from, I didn't ask.

“He's lying.” Violet murmurs.

I pull my phone from my ear, staring down at her. “Who's lying about what, kitten?” I ask. She points to the phone, quietly whispering, “He charges $120 an evening.” As quietly as she can manage to not alert Kellan.

I almost laugh, smiling down at my little pet for a moment before continuing my conversation with my client, but I do reward her with a forehead kiss. “I don't care where the money is from but we both know it isn't the brothel. That's your cover to hide what you're really doing which is concerning that you're hiding illegal activity with illegal activity.” I mention.

While it may be a little messed up to extort my client for double the money, he deserves it. “I will be looking into your businesses, Mr. Morse. All of them. We'll be in touch to discuss a new price for my protection.” I say flatly before hanging up.

“I didn't mean to interrupt, I'm sorry, master.” Violet almost whispers. I smile down at my girl, adjusting in my seat until she climbs off of me and stands up. “No need, that was very helpful. How about we spend the rest of the day lounging?” I suggest.

She's earned a few hours of nothing but peace, and I think I have too.

I take Violet's leash in my hand, leading her out of my office and into the living room for a little while. I let her curl up with her head on my lap and a blanket draped over her while we watched some ridiculous movie. I don't even think I could tell you what it's about and I know Violet can't, she's half asleep while I stroke her hair.

I hear my front door slam and a moment later I hear Brice's angry footsteps storm through my home until he's standing in the doorway of the living room. “Never again.” He yells.

Violet jolts at the volume, scaring herself awake. She hurries and sits up as best as she's able, having the lean heavily on one hip since her tail prevents her from sitting regularly.

I glare at Brice, pulling Violet into my side. She tucks her blanket tightly around her, both keeping warm and hiding her naked body from Brice. “Problem?” I ask sternly.

“I've had a long fucking day, man. First of all, that first client was a fucking nightmare. Did you know we've been wasting manpower watching her ex for two years?” He asks. “TWO YEARS!” He quickly yells.
