She nodded, closing her eyes as he dipped down and kissed her.

They lingered for a while, bodies still entwined before his arms protested. He eased out, smiling at her huff.

He dropped a chaste peck on her nose as he rolled to one side, swinging his feet off the edge of the bed, warring between wanting to clean up and wanting to pass out. “Oh, sweetheart, I intend to ravage you again before the sun rises, so…”

She glanced at the dark window. “That’s only a few hours away.”

“Guess you’d better rest up, then.”

“Or, you carry me into the bathroom and take me against the shower wall and we can sleep after.”

Buck stilled, glancing back at her over his shoulder, wondering if he’d imagined her reply when she smiled, sweeping her gaze the length of him, looking as if she wanted to devour him whole. He stood, spun, scooping her into his arms before heading for the ensuite.

She laughed, the easy sound warming his chest. While he knew she still needed time to process Pike — that whoever set her up might still be a threat — right here, right now, she looked lighter. As if she’d allowed him to shoulder some of her burden.

Tierney leaned against the counter, watching him as he turned on the taps and gathered a couple more clean towels out of the closet. She placed her hands on his chest when he moved in close, tracing the bands across his torso. “Talk about damn…”

He gathered her close, glancing at her reflection in the mirror. The way her hips flared out, how damn hot it would be to feel her ass cushion every stroke as he bent her over the counter.

Taking a deep breath, he wasn’t sure he’d make it to the shower.

Tierney eased back, arching a brow. “I don’t know what you’re thinking, but the answer’s yes.”

He closed his eyes, warring between wanting to pound into her, and needing to show her how much he cared — that it wasn’t just about the sex — when she tiptoed up and kissed his eyelids. He snapped them open, gazing into the bluest eyes he’d ever seen.

She smiled. “I know I still have trust issues, triggers, but those all fade away where you’re concerned, so…” She glanced over her shoulder, followed his gaze down to the upper swell of her ass. “If you’ve got something else in mind…”

His heart kicked up, and he moved, spinning her around, snaring her gaze in the mirror. Grinning, he applied gentle pressure on her back until she hugged the porcelain, legs spread apart, all those curves nearly taking him to his knees.

He moved between her legs, smoothing both hands up her back, across her shoulders, then down again, skimming the sides of her hips. “So fucking beautiful.”

Tierney shivered, lips curved up, watching him in their reflection. She arched a brow, wiggled her ass…

That did him in. Had him leaning over her, her hair twisted in his hand, her head turned to the side as he claimed her mouth, her small form molded to his. He eased off, bit at the muscle threading into her shoulder before kissing her again. Harder. Deeper, his tongue dancing along hers as he nudged her before thrusting forward.

She moaned into his mouth as he bottomed out, every inch of his body touching hers. He paused, his hips hugging her ass, liquid fire burning a path along his spine before he eased back, surging forward again before he slipped free.

The counter shook, the container of hand soap toppling over, leaving a trail of white bubbles across the sink. Their reflection blurred for a moment as the mirror shifted, everything coming back into focus as he retreated, claiming her again.

Tierney’s eyes rolled slightly, her hands gripping the sides as he released her mouth, kissing a path down her neck, across her shoulder to her upper back. Her head tilted back, breath catching as he tugged on her hair, meeting her gaze in the mirror again.

He smoothed his other hand along her ribs, skirting the areas with even a hint of purple, before grabbing her hip, holding her still as he slammed into her again, rattling more than just the counter, this time.

Her mouth opened on low moan, her eyelids fluttering, giving him fleeting glimpses of all that blue. Muscles contracted along her back as a deep flush crept across the upper swell of her breasts and into her neck.

Buck tsked when she closed her eyes, pulling on her hair until they flew open, their gazes locked. “Eyes on me, sweetheart. I want you here, right now with me because that’s all we’re promised. This moment. And I want to remember it for the rest of my life.”

Her chest heaved, all that blue barely visible around the black irises as she focused on him, breath panting out in hurried rasps, her tongue darting out to wet her lips. He started an easy rhythm, judging his speed by the way her lips pursed, how her eyelids drooped before lifting to maintain his gaze.

Growling, he increased his pace, an echoed slap following every thrust. Pressure built at the base of his spine, started rushing forward. He stopped, ignoring the way she huffed, a hushed, “No,” hung in the air as he leaned over her, nipped at her ear.

He placed his free hand on her chest, pressing against her sternum as he tugged on her hair, lifting her until her back hugged his chest, his hand over her heart. “I was wrong. This is how I need you.”

She inhaled as the new position drove him deeper, her head falling against his shoulder, her breath a frantic wash across his cheek. “God, Buck…”

Two words, and they destroyed him.

Her desperate tone, the gravelly rasp. Everything he felt embodied in her one urgent plea. He kissed her neck, claimed her mouth one more time, then pounded into her, reveling in every moan, every murmured, “Yes”.
