There was no way he would want to abandon his post.

There was also no easy way to share with him that I was alive.

I didn’t know how this would go, and I was too drunk to care.

I did know that I wanted Sage, though.

I needed her.

I pushed open the back door, and Neo appeared, eyes watchful, as he stared.

It was late, and I’d disturbed his nap. “Sorry, buddy.”

He did a cute doggy harrumph and went back into his house, watchful as ever.

It’d be nice to get him to come inside one of these days.

He and Dean were very similar.

Standoffish and wary.

I trudged across the yard in bare feet, my feet sinking into the cold grass.

When I got to the RV door, I input the code and nearly cursed when I realized that she’d never locked it.

Opening the door, I closed it behind me and flicked on the lights.

When she sat up in bed, she didn’t look tired at all.

“I was wondering when you were going to finally come over.”

I didn’t say a word.

Only stripped myself of my clothes.

The RV’s quarters were tight, and my hands brushed the ceiling as I ripped off my shirt.

I was naked when she threw the covers back on the bed and welcomed me into her arms.

I sank into her, burying my face into her neck.

“I’m so sorry, Gentry.”

I hugged her tighter, her body warming my own.

“Love me,” I ordered.

She spread her legs wider. “I’m right here.”

I couldn’t stop myself.

There was no condom this time.

No foreplay.

No soft words.

Just desperateness that overtook both of us.
