Me: Yeah, I did it right after I toured the apartment. The leasing agent said it should only take a couple of days to approve.

Poppy: That’s awesome. I can’t wait to be neighbors!

Me: Me too!

I finish the rest of my homework, then skim social media to kill time since it’s so quiet. I glance around to make sure no one is looking over, then I pull up Blake’s account.

His latest post is a photo of him lying in bed, shirtless.

My mouth waters at the sight of all that ripped muscle. All those hard lines.

I took that photo after we woke up yesterday, right before I got on my knees and took his dick into my mouth.

I blush just remembering it.

“Hey, B.”

I whip my head up, startled at first. When I see it’s Blake standing in front of my desk, I grin.

“Hey.”

“You okay? Your face is a little red.”

I clear my throat. “Yeah, just…I was checking out your latest post,” I say softly.

His mouth tilts up in a handsome-as-hell smile. “Oh, yeah?”

I bite my lip and nod. Butterflies zoom through my tummy. I’ve been working up the nerve to tell him the next thing I want to try in bed with him.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, putting it off for a little while longer.

He unzips his backpack and pulls out my water bottle, an apple, a small bag of chips, and the granola bar I set asidethis morning but forgot to pack. “You left this on the kitchen counter.”

A giddy feeling sprouts up in my chest. “You came all the way across campus to bring me this?”

His smile turns warm. “Yeah.”

“Blake, this is your busiest day of the week. You have practice and conditioning and classes until the evening.”

“I know.”

My heart does that floppy, bouncy thing in my chest.

“You have a busy day today too, and I knew how hungry you’d be without your snacks,” he says. He sets the food on the desk and leans down, pressing a soft kiss to my mouth.

“I can’t believe you did this,” I say softly against his mouth.

“I’d do anything for you,” he murmurs.

All the happy feelings inside of me collide and explode.

He’d do anything for me…because he’s perfect. The perfect guy. The perfect friend. The perfect boyfriend.

He’s not your boyfriend, remember? Don’t rush this. You’ll ruin how good everything is right now.

“So, um, I wanted to ask you something,” I say, trying to refocus.

He opens the bag of chips for me. He slides them over to me, like he’s silently reminding me to eat. My heart does that fluttery thing again.
