All of us but Ayira looked at Asha as she stood, eyes glossing with tears. Quan licked at his paw before putting it back down as he held his chin up high.

“Well shit, my bad.”

The End…For now.

5 books down. 2 More to go. I said I wanted this to be a 7 book series and I’m sticking to my word and making sure it happens.

What we know so far after reading this chaotic mess.

Quan’s true identity. We will have to revisit this in another book. A lot to unpack.

Maggie’s price went up. She may not be able to do cool levitating magic tricks but she is indeed powerful and becoming in tuned with everything around her. What I struggle with is the fact that this is a vampire that does not feed. That is where the disconnect is and Gaia peeped it the same way I did. I don’t want Maggie to start to feed. I like her the way she is but if she did? There would be nothing stopping her.

Namir is the moon. That kinda got swept under the rug but did it really? The irony is both Maggie and Namir know the truth but neither want to say it to the other without overwhelming them.

Ayira and Seth will NOT be an item although he is going to fall her. She’s just looking to live her life. That’s it. She’s not looking to be tied to a man.

We got to meet the family! Raven I think will be a reader favorite for sure. There were so many ways I could go with her character, but I really thought, I don’t write a lot of kids in my books, but I don’t have kids in real life. Makes it an easily forgotten detail in my stories.

I wrote this in a way where Maggie in the beginning feels alone, thinks she has no family left outside of her parents. Just to kick it off in the end where she’s surrounded by them. I really enjoyed that aspect of this story. I also really like Namirletting her just go at the very end. Go out and have fun, get drunk, get wasted, live your life. Go experience whatever. Just bring me something to eat back. Namir would not have been like that had he not met her mom. Once he met her, I think all the questions about moving off campus and getting a space together or why does she want to stay with her friends or in a dorm. All the questions about just moving as a couple just went out the window once he met her mother.

We meet Gaia which really is just Maggie in another life time. All of it was true except for Maggie being the moon. Probably the most important part not being true. Namir being what he is, he also has to relearn himself and his history. There is so much he doesn’t know and I don’t think he’ll admit it, but he might be more in the dark about himself than Maggie.

Go live your life. I’m right here if you need me. I’ll hold it down.

There’s probably so much more I’m missing but I’m really just excited to jump into book 6. I get to redeem myself with the “Wetlands” storyline. Next book will definitely be a lot of sun and water vibes. I want the girls to enjoy DCU for once before sneaking off to this ancient place, and I want Danielle to find unexpected love as she wakes up in a palace while she was on her way to DCU. Eventually, the two storylines will clash and meet in the middle, and it’s my first attempt at romantasy. One woman wakes up a princess with 7 strange men competing for her hand in marriage while on the other side of the world, her sister and friends are preparing to rescue her.

Because why the hell not?

Alright. That’s all I got for real.

Two lil bonus parts but then that’s it.

I stared down at my daughter as I sat in the red love seat. The lounge of our building was quiet on a rainy afternoon in Savannah. Ace and Vanessa were out. Audrey was on an assignment by herself. Trevor… I could hear his heavy footsteps throughout the building as he walked up and down. His voice echoed when he answered a call on speaker, but she was used to it by now. Dawn barely budged at the sound of her father moving around the house and now with more relatives, she was used to the screaming and shouting.

“Yeah, we’ll come take a look at it tomorrow morning,” Trevor said as he barged into the common area of the leveled building. The black slacks, white shirt tucked and his car keys sliding across the coffee table, I looked back down at his daughter who barely flinched. Her eyes behind her lids were darting from side to side, twitching and eyelashes fluttering before she settled deeper into her sleep. Business was picking up and bills were being paid on time. The books were handled, and cases were being solved however small or big. Today just happened to be a day where we only had one call, something Audrey could handle.

Movement caught the corner of my eye as I watched the orange kitten only known as Sin, come marching up from her nap only to take off running after nothing. She was wild, and playful with my daughter instantly bonding with her familiar. I still researched rehoming a familiar cat to a human family, one that would take care of it but decided against it. The two were bonded from the moment they laid eyes on each other.

“Your back still hurting?” Trevor asked as he came over. Leaning down, he kissed the top of his daughter’s forehead before kissing the side of mine.

“A little, yes. Nothing that won’t get handled tonight, I’m sure.”

I could see him smile before plopping down to sit next to me. He draped his arm against the back of the chair and sighed in relaxation. The sound of rain hitting the windows was all you could hear from the old boutique hotel as I comfortably laid against his body with our daughter. My feet were tucked with my red socks squished between the cushion while Trevor leaned his chin on top of my head. We both stared at Dawn as Sin the kitten playfully ran from one corner of the room to the other. Leaning my head back, I looked at Trevor’s tired face. His eyes curled open and closed, trying to fight his sleep when he leaned down to kiss me.

“You wanna take a nap with me?” He asked.

“No,” I replied as he kissed me again. “I’m not sleepy.”
