“You have a crown too. Are you a princess like me?”

“Every princess needs a queen,”I cut in, smirking at Somee who glared at me with a warning that didn’t mean shit.

“You have to give Ryland a hug too, Somee.”

Yeah, bring your fine ass over here.

Never one to disappoint my sister, when I opened my arms to welcome her, Somee walked right into my embrace and I took full advantage. I hugged her tightly, locking her body against mine, allowing my lips to graze her neck before I let go. Based on how she fumbled away from me, she was just as affected but Rylee hadn’t noticed.

“Can I wear it to school?”

“I’ll put it on now, but if your teacher asks you to take it off, you have to listen and you can wear it when you get home, deal?”Somee cut in, which I appreciate because I would have said hell yeah and fuck them teachers and that school.

“Deal.”

While I removed the largest set of flowers from the other side and placed them in the trunk, Somee got Rylee situated in the back seat and the crown positioned on her head, closing her in before she joined me at the rear of the trunk.

“Thank you for the flowers.”

“We still cool? Considering you don’t like surprises.”

“This one wasn’t that bad so I won’t hold it against you and I’m pretty sure you just made her entire year.”

“And what about you?”

Her pretty ass smiled smugly.“That was light work. I’m going to need you to step your game up to impress me.”

She turned and headed back to the passenger side and I watched her, knowing I was more than willing to do just that.

Challenge accepted, beautiful…

After we droppedRylee at school, we had breakfast at Morningside and I was pretty sure Somee lowkey stole picturesof the menu to send to Joy. I was expecting to find seafood loaded grits added to the menu app Joy set up for us. She could tear down a kitchen, but Joy couldn’t fuck with Morningside’s seafood loaded grits.

When we were back in my truck after breakfast, I mentally mapped out the rest of our day while Somee looked like she was seconds from tapping out. Not happening. I wanted my time.

“I need a nap,”she signed lazily, grinning and dropping her head back on the seat.

“You’re gonna have to do that in here. I have an appointment in thirty minutes.”

“Appointment where?”

“Haircut,”I signed as I backed out of the parking spot.

“You’re having a hard time processing simple concepts, I see. You know concussions and football are synonymous. You might want to get that checked out.”

“There’s nothing wrong with my processing skills,”I signed, using my knee to steady the steering wheel long enough for me to use my hands.

“Taking me with you to get a haircut is couple I-S-H.”She finger spelled the last part.

“Yeah it is and I’m not the one who has trouble processing simple concepts. We are a couple. Did you forget how I was knocking them walls down last night?”I signed, granting me a hard ass glare when I used my knee once again to steady the steering wheel.

“Hands on the steering wheel, please and thank you.”

She ignored that last part, which I expected, but I saw her reaction. Those thighs slammed together tightly.

“We’re good, calm all that down.”

“My life is precious. I’m not taking your word for it. Hands on, sir.”
