"Is going out the country only for sneaky links, or is it for my shorty as well?”

I blinked, caught off guard. Then I rolled my eyes. "Oh, so now you wanna take me somewhere? What, you finally realized you might lose me?"

"Shorty, stop playing with me." His voice dropped low and he stepped closer until there was barely any space between us.

“I aint playin,”

"Our flight leaves in the morning. So, either you can keep running that mouth, or you can go inside and pack your shit."

"Wait, you serious?"

"You heard what I said the first time. We bout to go to Jamaica. Just me and you. Our flight leaves at nine a.m., so you better start packing.” His hand came up to cup my face, his thumb brushing across my cheek.

I couldn't help it. The smile spread across my face so wide my cheeks hurt, and I tried to hide it but it was too late.

"There she go," Trigg said, grinning back at me. "That's what I like to see."

"You so annoying," I said, but I was still smiling.

"Yeah, but you love it." He leaned down and kissed my forehead. "Now go pack. And don't bring no ugly ass bathing suits either. I wanna see you looking right on the beach."

I pushed him playfully, but I couldn't stop smiling as I unlocked my door and walked inside.

I didn’t know if this was Trigg was finally stepping up or what, But I was all the way here for it.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Sosa

I pulled up to Allure around midnight, my all-black Hellcat sitting pretty in the VIP parking spot. The bass from inside the club was thumping so hard I could feel it in my chest before I even stepped out the whip.

I ain't really wanna be here, But Sheree had been blowing up my phone like a fucking crazy woman, after that shit at lunch, talking 'bout "we need to talk" and "come see me at the club." I knew what the fuck she was on, but I needed to dead this shit before it got out of hand. Yah-Yah already was looking at me sideways after Sheree came up to our table acting all familiar and shit.

I locked my car and headed to the entrance where Big Mike was working the door.

"What's good, Sosa," he dapped me up. "She waiting for you upstairs."

"Bet."

I walked through the club, past all the niggas throwing ones at the dancers on stage, past the bar where bottles was getting popped every two seconds.

This was Sheree shit, she had opened this club about six months ago and it was already one of the hottest spots on the West Side. Shorty always had a good head for business.

I took the stairs up to the second level where her office was at. The door was cracked open and I could see her sitting behind her desk, counting money. She looked up when I walked in and that same pretty ass smile I remembered spread across her face.

"There go my baby," she said, standing up.

"I ain't your baby, Sheree. Let's get that straight right now."

She laughed like I was playing, walking around the desk in them heels that made her legs look crazy. She had on a tight ass dress that ain't leave nothing to the imagination, her hair done up all nice, makeup on point. Sheree always knew how to look good, I'll give her that.

"Why you being like that, Sontae? I just wanted to see you."

"Nah, you wanted to pop up on me and my girl at lunch like you ain't have no sense. What was that about?"

She waved her hand dismissively. "I saw you and wanted to say hi. That's a crime now?"

"It is when you acting like we still fuck with each other like that. We ain't been together in years, Ree. You can't be pulling no shit like that when I'm with Yah-Yah."
