“Are we sure Stone is okay with us changing everything to his house?”I ask, looking around at the inside that looks completely different from when I moved in.

“Little late now to be changing our minds,” he chuckles then softens his face a tad.“You sure about moving in with Havoc?”At first I’m caught off guard at his question and hesitate to answer.“Mel and I don’t keep secrets.”

“Oh,” I finally find my words and nod.“I’m sure. It’s crazy how fast you grow close with someone, but I love ’em.”

“Havoc’s a good man.Hot headed sometimes, but is there when you need him,” he tells me.“He’ll be good to you.”

“I know, I see how he is with Zane.”

Phillip looks around and lets out a deep breath.

“I’m tired and think we’re done for today. You look just as exhausted, get some rest, y’all have done a lot in the last two weeks.”

He pulls out his phone and tells Rocky that they need to head home.A few minutes later, Rocky comes through the back door.

“Ready?”he asks his dad.

“Let’s hit the road before Mom beats us home from work,” Phillip says.

“Can I drive?”Rocky asks, and the question shocks me.

“I didn’t realize you could drive?”I question looking at both father and son.

A sheepish grin crosses Rocky’s face, and he looks like pure joy.

“Mom doesn’t know it,” he tells me quickly.

“Oh,” I say, finding out I’m now an accomplice with these two.

“But-but I’m getting better and it’s not far.Right, Dad?”Rocky looks over at Phillip.

“We’re fine, Rock,” his Dad assures him.

“Y’all be careful then,” I say and give my head a little shake.I’m sure if they get pulled over, the MC will have them out of trouble in no time.

“Bye, best friend!”Rocky yells out as they make their way to the front door.

“See ya later, best friend!”I call out.

Once they leave, I lock the front door and close the garage door.Making sure all the trash is picked up, I wipe down all the dirty surfaces as my body feels like it weighs a thousand pounds.I’m drained, so I head to the shower and fall into bed before the sun is even down.I’ve been getting tired lately, and all the sleep and catnaps I’ve been taking haven’t alleviated any of it.I should probably ask Melissa about it next time I see her.I’m sure it’s from all this activity, I just hope I’m not coming down with something.

Crawling up the mattress, I close my eyes.I still have a few hours before Beckett should be home, and we’ll make dinner together.I think I’ll rest for a bit and give my body a break.

“How is it coming along with the investigation?”I ask, standing in Stone’s office at the clubhouse with Hawk and Reaper.

“These guys are good, I’ll give them that,” Hawk says.“I’ve hacked the church’s server, but everything is clean so far.Whatever they are doing, it’s not through emails. And unless they are sending out hidden messages through them, I can’t find anything suspicious. They stopped doing a lot of transactions about three and a half years ago, which is weird and a red flag to me.But what really stands out is the amount of money they collect from tithing has quadrupled, but the number of members isn’t there to support those transactions.”

“Why do you say that?”Reaper asks.

“Unless Sweetwater has several multi-millionaires that have popped up in the last three years that we don’t know about, the church is funneling something,” Hawk says, pulling out documents and placing them down on Stone’s desk.

We all take a sheet of paper and start looking it over, but it’s all Greek to me.

“Why hasn’t this been reported or thrown any flags to the government?”I ask.

“Because it’s a nonprofit, and there’s a separation between church and state.Thesechurchesget away with a lot under that umbrella.Unless a disgruntled member reaches out to the government, most of these places never get questioned,” Hawk educates us.

“It shows seven people who donate five thousand a week,” Reaper calls out.“Do we know any of them?”
