But boy, oh boy, was it worth it.

And would I be going back for more? Yes, Ma’am, I would.

Once I’d dealt with this current situation.

I pushed open the bathroom door, headed into the nearest stall, giving myself the mother of all eye rolls as I took the tube out of the paper bag and dropped my pants. I was in and out in less than thirty seconds, ignoring the shivers taking hold of me at the cold, cold cream.

Why was cream always so cold?

Or maybe it wasn’t, maybe it was just the shivers of idiocy leaving my body. I was a doctor, I should know better. I slipped the tube into my pocket and washed my hands before heading upstairs where the perpetrator of the crime would be waiting.

I arrived as he was walking out of Hunter’s office, Jameson following behind him, after they’d been through his pre-op checkup and run him through the surgery. I stopped to watch them because, for the first time ever, I could legitimately study Felix without it being remotely weird if I got caught gawping at the most beautiful man in existence. When I’d come into work this morning, I’d left him asleep. His massive body warm and snuggly in my bed, buried under the comforter, and I’d hit snooze three times until I’d had to force myself up so I wasn’t late.

But it wasn’t my fault, because, look at him.

I was only reacting the same way any normal person would. I don’t think a more perfect male specimen even existed. It made no difference if he was in a tux or his current attire of a hoodie and trackpants, the clothes were merely there for his bidding, working in unison to sheathe his enormous physique in a way that made it abundantly clear the size of the muscles they were keeping warm.

Even through the thick, fleecy hoodie, you could see the definition of his pecs as they stretched out the fabric, snug but not painted on, while his trackpants fitted perfectly and did absolutely nothing to hide his thick thighs and round, peachy ass that would most definitely still have the crescent outline of my fingernails imprinted into. His pale blonde hair looked golden in the light, still slightly damp from his shower, mussed up and flicked over to the side. His eyes sparkled as blue and clear as the ocean, the edges creasing in a smile as he listened to Jameson and Hunter. If California had a poster child, he would be it, which was ironic seeing as he was from Michigan and spent his life on the ice, but he looked like he’d been born to wear board shorts and not much else.

And he was mine.

Mine.

“Oh, hello.” An elbow nudged my side and I glanced round to see Brooke standing there. “Who is that?”

My chuckle came out as more of a sigh, originating from deep in my vagina as she reminisced over the last thirty-six hours. “Felix Cleverly.”

“That’s Felix Cleverly? The one all the interns are talking about? How did I miss him before?” She leaned against the doorframe as she ogled him. “My, my, he is fine. Very, very fine.”

“Yes, he is.”

Her chart suddenly flipped up to cover her face, as Felix had chosen that moment to look over and catch us staring at him. “Oh, shit.”

He left Hunter and Jameson mid-sentence, his grin getting bigger with every step he took closer to us.

“There’s the most beautiful surgeon in the world.” He cupped my cheeks, his lips open and surrounding mine in a massive sloppy kiss, warm and wet and knee-buckling.

I heard a gasp as Brooke’s chart fell to the floor, and from the corner of my eye, I could see her standing there with her mouth wide open. No shame.

“Lex.” I unstuck myself from him and we turned together to Brooke, who was still staring. “Lex, this is Brooke, one of my surgical colleagues.”

“Brooke this is...”

Felix’s hand shot out in that ingrained, confident way that people who’d spent a lifetime hand-shaking did. “Felix, her boyfriend. Nice to meet you.”

I’m not sure who was more shocked, Brooke or me, because neither of us was expecting him to say that. Brooke snapped out of it first, taking his giant hand with her much more dainty and surgical one.

“Hello.”

I watched as they held each other’s gaze, neither quite sure what to say, while continuing to shake through Brooke’s shock.

“I like meeting Molly’s colleagues.” He nodded over to Hunter and Jameson who were now coming over to join us, and lowered his voice. “Except those two.”

“You know they’re operating on you, right?”

“Doesn’t mean I have to like them.” He threw his arm over my shoulder as they reached us.

“Molly, haven’t seen you this morning.” Hunter’s eyes didn’t meet mine, instead they were trained on Felix’s arm.
