Milo doesn’t blink an eye at Ray’s speedy exit. He climbs over the center console to slide into the passenger seat.
“Looks like it’s just you and me.”
He grins toothily at me and buckles himself in. He snuggles into my leather jacket and brings the sleeve up for a sniff.
And all I can think is,oh hell.

“Are you sure we shouldn’t put out a statement or something? Shouldn’t we clarify that we’re not actually together?” I ask once we’re back at Milo’s place.
He’s flopped on the couch, still looking very cozy in my jacket, which is making me a little jealous.
A part of me wantsto take the jacket back and offer myself up as a cuddle buddy instead.
“Ray’s got it under control. More importantly, come sit,” Milo demands and pats the space next to him.
Naturally, I oblige and sit, putting some space between us, but Milo is quick to close the distance.
“Isn’t there something more important we need to discuss?”
I try to inch away because it’s hard to think properly when Milo is this close. I can make out his sweet apple scent and the minty body wash he uses. The two smells shouldn’t go together, but on Milo, it’s intoxicating.
I scoot again, and Milo follows until I’m at the edge of the couch.
“What’s there to discuss?” I ask, giving up on running. I face Milo head-on.
“Did it work?”
“Did what work?”
“My plan, duh!”
I stare at him blankly. “Was there a plan?”
“Of course there was, silly! It was my greatest plan of all, if I do say so myself!”
That mischievous look returns to his eyes, and I’m almost too afraid to ask what this grand plan of his is.
Could it be that he had orchestrated this entire thing? Has he been wearing my jacket on purpose to intentionally get photographed? I didn’t find any information online regarding Milo’s sexuality, so maybe this is his way of hinting that he’s into men?
Possibly into me?
But would he do something like this without running it by Ray first?
I look at Milo, the chaos goblin incarnate. Most definitely, he would.
This must be the plan he’s talking about.
“I think so,” I answer slowly. “I think you made it very clear now.”
Milo’s eyes sparkle even more than they already do. While I do think it’s a wild way to come out to his fans, I guess as long as it makes him happy.
“We should discuss what comes next,” I add.
This is a huge step forward for Milo, but we can’t have the entire world thinking that he and I are together when we’re not.
