“You’re a lousy liar, East.”

I don’t dignify that with an answer.I know.

“Why don’t you just tell her you’ve got a crush on her?”

“Because it’s not that simple,” I admit. There’s no point in denying my crush anymore. Beck knows me too well, and I should at least be honest with him if I can’t be with her.

“Why not?”

I press my lips together. It’s not just a crush. What I feel forRayne is more than that. It’s deeper. Much deeper. It’s been that way from the beginning. I have no idea how to move forward when we want different things.

I’ve spent the whole week trying to lie to myself, trying to convince myself that I can do this. But the truth is, it’s not okay. I don’t just want to be her friend.

I want to be everything for her.

This is the most cliché question ever, but what’s your biggest dream, when it comes to music?

eastcoleman:

If you’re going to ask such a cliché question, I have to give you a cliché answer in return, is that clear?

mockingbird:

Of course, that’s why I’m asking you.

eastcoleman:

Then you already know the answer.

mockingbird:

No, it depends. There are two possibilities: The clichéd honest answer and the clichéd modest one, that it’s all about making music and touching people and blah blah blah. The usual stuff. I’m not quite sure which answer suits you.

eastcoleman:

You don’t think I’m modest?

mockingbird:

I do, but I also don’t think you need to be, so I hope you give me the other answer.

eastcoleman:

Would you be disappointed if I didn’t?

mockingbird:

I would be, but I’d try not to show it.

eastcoleman:
