“Easton,” she says. I love hearing my name coming out of her mouth. I love her voice, especially the fact that it sounds a little deeper than usual, a little huskier. Rayne reaches for me and pulls me down, spreads her legs and wraps them around my body. I feel her heat against me, and I think I’m going to die.

“Please,” she begs. I give in and reach between us. She’s so wet. She’s my downfall, and I don’t mind at all.

I enter her carefully and pause, giving her time to get used to me. She moves first, her pelvis lifting slowly. I follow her movement until we find another rhythm, hard and fast. We lose control and—fuck, nothing has ever felt this good.

I’m losing it, and I don’t give a damn. Her hips thrust forward, and mine meet hers. A familiar pressure builds inside of me, but too fast, too soon. This isn’t supposed to happen yet. But I can’t stop myself, and she gives me no choice, moving faster, her legs holding me where she wants me.

“Fuck, Rayne, I can’t! I have to slow down—” I break off as she shakes her head.

“No, not slower. Keep going, please!”

She kisses me, and I want to do what she’s asking, I really do, but I can’t, so I brace myself with one hand on the mattress to give me enough space to slide the other hand between us.

“Easton.” She moans my name and starts to say something else, but before she can, another moan escapes her lips as I find the right spot. We gasp at the same time as she arches her back, lifting her pelvis a little higher. We push ourselves toward each other and I thrust into her, letting my fingers circle.

She comes before me, just by a few seconds, with a cry that pushes me over the edge. Her muscles tighten around me and I. Can’t. Take. Any. More.

I come, and I didn’t know it could feel so damn good to lose a part of myself.

Rayne’s head is on my chest. We’re still awake, and her fingers wander over my skin, a feather-light touch. Her eyes are closed, and there’s a smile playing around her lips.

“You’re in love with me,” she murmurs, and now I have to smile too.

“Yes.”

“I’m in love with you too.” Her voice is suddenly soft and sleepy.

“Yes,” I repeat. I feel warm, but a different kind of warm than before. She falls asleep, nestled against me, naked skin against naked skin. Her breathing becomes slow and heavy, as does her body. She sighs softly and I close my eyes. It’s crazy, but I never want to do anything else but fall asleep and wake up again next to her.

Chapter 35

Rayne

Head in the Clouds—Hayd

“Well look who’s back,” Zoe says, greeting me with an amused smile as I enter the ballet studio on Monday morning, shortly before class starts. I’m running late, and Zoe and Mae are already stretching. I drop my bag on the floor with a thud.

“Good morning.” My breath comes a little too quickly because I’ve been running across campus.

I quickly take hairpins out of my bag and start doing my hair. Everyone else is already here and ready to go, and class starts in just a few minutes. I should have been here fifteen minutes ago too so I could warm up properly. But Easton and I couldn’t get out of bed, and by the time we finally got going, it was so late I only had time to rush to my room and change before hurrying over here.

“You broke your promise again,” Mae says with a pout, but I know her well enough that I can tell she doesn’t really mean it. She’s not mad at me, even if she’s pretending to be.

I give her an apologetic smile. “I know, I’m sorry.”

“You said you’d tell us everything yesterday, but instead you didn’t even come home. Admit it, you don’t want to tell us anything.” She sighs theatrically, which makes Zoe laugh.

“Yes, I do,” I insist. “I’m sorry.” It’s not even a lie; I feel a bit guilty, but I haven’t had time to text them to let them know what happened. I couldn’t have gone to the dorm yesterday, either. I mean, I guess I could have, but I really didn’t want to. It was much too nice to spend the day in bed with Easton.

“That’s okay,” she says with a mischievous smile. “You were busy.”

The way she says it makes me blush immediately. “Yes,” I murmur, unable to stop myself from smiling as I think of Easton. His hands in my hair and on my body. His mouth exploring every inch of me.

“You’re blushing,” Zoe observes. Not helpful.

I sigh and put my hands over my face before I can look at my friends again.
