“I keep it so I don’t forget.” I flash a wry smile. “Like I could, right?”

Mason's jaw works. His eyes are dark and intense andseeingme. He shifts, his hands careful as he lifts me, turning me to straddle his lap. I'm surrounded by him—his heat and his strength. My hands automatically go to his shoulders.

He tips my chin up. “You're not alone anymore.”

This man. My hands frame his jaw, and I kiss him—slow and deep and certain.

MASON

Her mouth is on mine and everything else disappears.

The taste of her. The weight of her in my lap. The way her hands frame my face like she's claiming me.

I kiss her back—slowly at first, letting her lead, letting her set the pace. Letting her get used to the feel of us. But when her tongue touches mine, something in me breaks open.

My hand slides up her back, into her hair. I tug gently, angling her head back, and deepen the kiss, taking more, needing more.

She makes a sound—soft, needy—and it goes straight to my dick.

Hell, my dick’s been in the game since the first moment I scoped her out.

I pull back just enough to speak, my forehead against hers. “Thank you for telling me.”

Eyes closed, she just nods.

“Do you trust me?”

She nods again, no hesitation.

Nuzzling my nose against hers, I say, “Tell me.”

“I trust you, Mason,” she says, her voice clear.

It goes straight to my dick, pulsing against the confines of my jeans. “Can I touch you?”

Her breath hitches.

“Can I make you feel good?” My voice is rough. Raw. “Make you feel safe with my touch?”

Shivering, she nods.

“Say it.”

“Yes.” Her gaze is wide and trusting. “Yes, Mason.”

Leaning in, I kiss her, eyes open, watching her to be sure she wants this. My hand moves to her thigh, sliding up under the hem of her shorts. Her skin is warm and soft, supple. I move higher?—

She's not wearing anything underneath. When she knew I was coming over.

Fuck.

“Lily.” My voice is strained as my fingers brush against her. She's already wet and slippery, and the knowledge nearly undoes me.

She shifts on my lap, spreading her knees apart, watching where my hand is inside her shorts.

“Still okay?” My voice is gravel with need and it takes all my will to focus on being gentle.
