"Of course."

Griffin sounded completely certain.

"Once she watches it, she'll know Alexa lied to her. Everything will clear up immediately. She's angry right now, but after seeing that video, she'll realize she misunderstood the situation."

A grin spread across Griffin's face.

"Trust me. She'll come back."

Hearing that, Vincent leaned back against the edge of the table and folded his arms across his chest.

The satisfaction on his face became impossible to hide.

For the first time all night, he looked genuinely relaxed.

In his mind, the problem was already solved.

Juliet would watch the video.

She would realize she had been wrong.

Then she would call him.

It was only a matter of time.

With that thought, Vincent pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen.

The first few minutes passed easily.

Every time the device lit up, his eyes immediately dropped toward it, only for disappointment to flicker across his face when it turned out to be someone else.

Ten minutes passed.

Then twenty.

Then forty.

Still nothing.

The confidence that had been sitting comfortably on his face slowly began to crack.

His brows drew together slightly as he checked his phone again.

No missed calls.

No messages.

Nothing.

An hour later, the satisfied smile had vanished completely.

He sat in silence, one elbow resting on the armrest while his fingers pressed against his temple. His brows remained tightly furrowed as he stared at the screen.

Across the room, Griffin noticed the change immediately.

"She'll call," he said reassuringly. "She always calls you. She's probably busy."
