“Man, fuck all of that. I’m about to do a clean house and replace all of them.”

“And y’all wonder why I’ve been curving these hoes. I don’t have time for drama. It doesn’t matter if you lay your cards out on the table; you could still end up in some bullshit,” Keynauri vented.

“I know the bitches have been blowing you up since you touched down,” I replied.

“Hell yeah. It was cool at first, but it got old fast. My mind is on the money, and I refuse to let anything distract me. I’ll get my dick wet every now and then, but outside of that, I don’t have any play for a bitch. I have enough drama with my baby mama. I’m not adding shit else to my plate.”

Keynauri’s baby mama had been giving him hell since he got released. I never understood how a woman could keep a man away from his child out of spite. I loved Lyric to death, but she knew better than to play with her life or my little girl. Even if we decided to go our separate ways, nothing would ever keep me away from my daughter.

“You ain’t wrong. I saw her crashing out online the other day. She wants everybody to believe you’re a deadbeat, as if you haven’t been providing for her and Keyami while being lockedup. I don’t put my hands on women, but I would beat a bitch’s ass for trying to interfere with my relationship with my child.” Logic scoffed.

“Hell yeah. I don’t play like that at all. Tiana doesn’t even realize how good she’s got it, because most niggas won’t even fight for their kids. You’ve been there since the beginning and haven’t dropped the ball yet. There are plenty of women who would love to have a baby daddy like you, but she’s allowing her personal feelings to cloud her judgment. The only person who will end up hurt is baby girl, and that’s fucked up,” I expressed.

“Naw, I’m not even going to keep allowing her to play with me. I already have a lawyer, so if she doesn’t get her mind right, we’ll be standing before a judge. I refuse to allow my daughter to grow up without me or to believe she isn’t my priority. My daughter won’t be used as a pawn in her childish games, especially when she’s been fucking the whole city since I’ve been gone. I never pressed her about what she was doing, because she was single and grown. All I asked was for her to make sure our child was kept separate from all of that shit. Now she’s acting as if I broke our family up when we weren’t a family to begin with. Shit is crazy.” Keynauri dropped his head, letting me know the shit was getting to him mentally.

I understood where he was coming from because I would be sick if I couldn’t see my baby girl. Keynauri loved his daughter with his soul, and what he was going through wasn’t fair.

Talking about children made me want to check on mine. Lyric and I had been arguing more than usual since Keynauri had come home. I was still pressing the issue of telling him the truth, but she had every excuse for why we had to keep shit a secret. My breaking point was when she invited him over to the house and begged me to leave my own shit.

In the beginning, I understood why she was hesitant, but once things started to become deep between us, I stopped caring.Nauri was my boy and all, but his approval wouldn’t change shit for me. Lyric and Noodle were mine, and I didn’t give a fuck what anyone thought about it. Fuck ’em.

Me: What is my baby doing?

My Lola B: I just finished throwing up.

My Lola B: And I’m about to take a shower, bust a nut, and take a nap.

I stared at the screen, trying to make sure I wasn’t tripping.

Me: Yo. WTF?

My Lola B: Oh, I thought you wanted to know what I was doing.

Me: I was asking about my daughter, but I definitely have questions.

My Lola B: Her Studtie came and took her to the park.

Me: Alright, bet.

Me: What’s wrong with you tho? Tf is you throwing up for?

Lyric hardly ever got sick, and I was worried because whenever she or Noodle got sick, they took the whole house down. I couldn’t afford to get sick right now.

My Lola B: You’re gonna be mad at me.

Her response caught me off guard because I wasn’t sure what she meant.

Me: Why would I be mad?

My Lola B: Are you coming home soon?

Me: I wasn’t planning on it. Why, what’s up?

My Lola B: I’ll talk to you when you get home. I still feel like shit, and I’m horny.

Me: Umm, okay. I’ll see you once I finish up here.

Me: Let me know if you need me to stop somewhere and get you some medicine.
