Chapter 1

Lucas & Levi

LEVI.

Rules are made to be broken.

Limits are meant to be tested.

Boundaries are set to be crossed.

And what could be worse than one unapologetic asshole? Two.

The Terror Twins, Double Trouble, Twinadoes, Chaos and Mayhem, Search and Destroy, The Cyclones—if you can think of it, we’ve been called it.

Lucas and I weren’t your average pairing, either—the two of us together, often triggering anxiety and eliciting fear from the moment we entered a room. But if we were known for being terrible human beings, the question here was: What were two unadulterated, identical twin brothers doing, performing in the Temptations male revue?

Living the fucking dream, of course.

When we moved our asses to Las Vegas at twenty-one, I sure as fuck didn’t know what to expect. The decision was made entirely on impulse. My brother and I were born and raised in Long Beach, California, and with Vegas only being a five-hour drive away, it seemed almost criminal not to take advantage of the quick and exciting change of scenery.

Our parents didn’t care where we went after graduation, and in all honesty, I think they were just glad to be rid of us and our consistent gravitation to all the things that gave them premature gray hairs.Thank god we found a city that could handle our insanity.

The first three years of living here, we worked at a couple of the flair bars along The Strip. Ending up at Levitation, located right next door to Heartbreaker Resort.

The attention we garnered from bartending together was exactly what we were looking for in a city fueled by sin—always whores for the attention of thirsty women and more than willing to seduce them for a worthwhile tip. But after eavesdropping on countless conversations and listening to the endless raving about the performers of the male revue show next door, Lucas decided to do a little investigating of his own…

“Hey, Levi.” My brother peered over at me with an arched brow as I crouched down behind the bar, cutting through the tape on a case of vodka with a small butterfly knife. “Have you ever considered doing something other than bartending as a means to show off your skills?” He inquired, lazily resting against the counter as he watched tourists wander past on The Strip.

“That all depends. Whichskills are we talking about, because as you know, I have many.” I teased with a smirk in his direction, flipping the knife closed before tucking it into my back pocket to free my hands so I could sticker the bottles and resume inventory for our shift.

“Seduction.” Lucas grinned—more to himself than me, as he vacantly stared off into space—blissfully ignorant of the world around him; the job we had to finish.

“That’s an art, not a skill, and based on last night’s tips, it’s one that I’ve crafted to perfection. Why?”

“Oh, no particular reason…” He hummed with a brief pause, rapping his knuckle on the stone counter. “How about dancing?”

“For the love of—Out with it, Luke, you know I hate the cryptic shit. It bugs the fuck out of me when you do this.”

“Alright, alright… Jesus. No need to play Oscar the Grouch so early in the day…” Good thing my knife was already in my back pocket, because I was seconds away from throwing my Sharpie at him. “Have you thought about taking a different path? Switching up careers, and perhapsdancingin the… Temptations show?”

I stopped what I was doing, staring down at the bottles as I contemplated his question.

Had I considered the show based on all the gossip? Yeah, more times than I’d like to admit, but the opportunity would be a nice change of pace. Working in complete air conditioning for once instead of outside in this fucking heat with nothing more than a fan to push the same hot air around like a jetengine.

“You have until I finish withthisto share all the details. Better make it convincing, brother.” Which I knew he would. That was always his strong suit. Lucas and the art of persuasion.

While I enjoyed serving drinks and the flexible schedule that came along with twirling bottles at Levitation, after hours of talking, Lucas had—just as I knew he would—managed to sway me into believing that a fresh perspective would be well worth the risk. Little did he know the full extent that sentiment would hold later down the line…

And just like that, six years later, here we are running the show like it had always been ours. Cole Ryan passed his leadership position down to us about a year after we had completed our initiation into the Men Under Revue. He’d finished serving his thirty years, more than ready for his retirement, and from what I’ve heard, his son, Dallas, was following in the same footsteps as the leader of Red Magic.

There were plenty of candidates in line for Cole’s position, but with how effortlessly Lucas and I had handled our tests, there was no better option—the bonus, as always, was us being a two-for-one special.

We could simultaneously manage both the resident show at Heartbreaker and the tour team interchangeably as we saw fit.

Life in the MUR was good—exceptional even.

That was, until I got the not-so-friendly reminder from Dustin Slate—the man in charge of the entire organization—that Lucas and I had six months left to secure our chosen brides before losing our positions as the leaders of the Temptations revue.
