leave you empty, full of doubt
With deceitfulness and brutal lies
They twist and turn you inside out
You don’t need me
You don’t need anyone
You’ve got you
You’ve got you
Better keep yourself around you
Better to walk this world alone
Than know ecstasy of one moment
The next spent cut right to the bone
They promise much, and give so little
Take, take, take, is all they do
Then leave you standing there with nothing
You don’t need them, you’ve got you.
Walk away, don’t look back,
You won’t need them, never do,
Head held high and eyes wide open,
You need no one, you’ve got you.”
Amen.

Killy shot upright in bed. What the fuck? Pounding nearly bashed the door in. He crawled over the sleeping form next to him. The pounding didn’t let up.
“You better have a damned good reason for waking me up in the middle of the fucking night.” Through a pot and beer-induced haze he marched across the room naked, struggled with the security chain, and flung the door open.
Killy’s worst nightmare filled the doorway.
“Where the hell is he?” Spit flew from Rob’s mouth. His eyes were red, but from drugs, not tears, and he reeked to high heavens from whatever he’d been doing.
“What the fuck are you talking about? Who?” Shaking his head didn’t clear Killy’s thoughts.
Rob stormed into the room. “Your worthless brother, that’s who!” Spotting the lump under the covers, he stalked over to the bed. “A-ha! I knew it!” He yanked the covers back, revealing a drunken, bare-assed man. The intricate tattoos the groupie had lured Killy with stood out in stark relief across his back.
Wow. Dat ass!
“Where is he?” Rob screeched again, bringing Killy out of his lust-filled haze.
Killy’s hangover so didn’t need this shit. He pressed his fingers to his temples, Rob’s words seeping past a cloud of alcohol and weed. “What do you mean? He’s not with you?” Fuck. Had his brother come here and Killy’d been too preoccupied to notice?
