It's too much, but I love it and I want more, more. He pumps harder, harder, filling me completely, and suddenly I’m coming again, clamping around his fingers, all my muscles going limp as I bury my face in a pillow. His urgent sounds match his pace, and then he explodes deep inside me. He withdraws slowly and then rolls onto his back beside me, gently draping an arm over my back.
“I feel like I’m going to pass out,” he utters.
“Is that a bad thing?” I tease, turning onto my side so I can look at him.
“Are you kidding? That was fucking incredible. You are incredible.”
I can only smile as he pulls me close for a kiss.
“Happy honeymoon,” I tell him.
We lie there in silence for a while, simply enjoying our closeness. He traces his fingertips down my shoulder, over the curve of my waist, my clavicle, my lips.
“Have you given any thought to what you might want to do now? I mean, while your dad is winding things down and getting ready to hand off the team?”
It’s a valid question but takes me a little by surprise. The truth is, I have thought about it. But my idea is still in the planning stages, hardly more than a dream. But who better to share my dreams with than my new husband?
“Actually, I was thinking of something. I don’t want to shock my dad with our agreement about the team just yet, but I would like to show him that I’m more ambitious and a lot more capable than he thinks. He’s never given me much of a chance to prove myself, not even after I graduated with honors at the top of my class.”
“So what are you thinking?” Sebastian asks.
Looking up at him, I take a breath and then close my eyes and blurt it out all at once. “I’d like to start a charitable foundation for runaways. And I’d like to call it Sophie & Rachel’s Treehouse. If you’re comfortable with that. I just…I want to honor them, and I want to help young people in impossible situations, and I feel like that’s something they both would have loved. Don’t you?”
I open my eyes, but I can’t read his expression.
He shakes his head, and I start to panic, thinking I’ve crossed a line.
“Blair, that…that sounds like something Rachel would have loved to be a part of. And your sister, too, from what you’ve told me. It’s a beautiful idea. A brilliant idea.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really. Has anyone ever told you how wonderful you are?”
He kisses me and it turns into much more than a quick peck.
“No, why don’t you tell me again?”
“You’re wonderful.”
“I didn’t hear you. What was that?”
He chuckles against my lips. “I love you, wife. Did you hear that?”
“Oh, loud and clear. I love you, too.”
Grinning, I grab the covers and pull them over our heads as I crawl on top of the man I love and kiss him with everything I have.
I believe we can come up with a few ideas for whiling away the next few hours, and I’m not letting him out of this bed until we enjoy each other again.
And again.
Forever.
EPILOGUE
BLAIR
“Psst.See that woman over there, with the red and blue ribbons in her hair?” I whisper to Sebastian. “She’s one of our interns from Columbia. And the guy next to her? He’s another one of our interns. I knew there was something going on between them. Aw. Aren’t they adorable?”
