His gaze is unapologetic as he shrugs his shoulders as if it’s no big deal.

“We cannot allow violence. It endangers the staff and disrupts the other patients' healing.”

“Please, Kill. Get me out of here.” A voice I don’t even recognize tears me away from killing this piece of garbage priest.

Carter lifts his gaze to mine, his eyes are filled with sadness and despair. It’s like staring straight into the past, once again witnessing my brother, broken and abused.

As I push the wheelchair to the door I hear the fucker.

“Pl-ea-ssse, do-nn’t tou -chh me.” He is obviously mocking my brother and I tighten my hands around the push handles of the wheel chair.

I’m fighting a war in my mind. Get Carter out or kill this motherfucker.

“Please Kill. Please. I can’t be here.”

Carter, taking a shaky breath, snaps me back to the present.

“We can handle this, brother.” Knox offers but I know he’ll never agree to that.

He shakes his head as if trying to clear his mind, while keeping his gaze focused on Desjardins standing against the back wall. The priest's eyes dart between all of us, myself, my brothers, Psycho, Reaper, and Raven. He is trying to find a way out of his predicament, but there’s only one.

Death.

Carter's voice comes out loud, angry, and psychotic.

“Not a fucking chance. I was never given the revenge that was owed to me. I’ll handle this. For what he did to me and for what he did to her.”

Psycho starts laughing like a fucking crazy person.

“He pissed himself.”

I’ll let Carter get his well-earned revenge, but I can’t stay silent.

“Do you remember what I said to you when I pushed Carter out of here in a fucking wheelchair? Do you remember that, Desjardins?”

He doesn’t speak, probably because he’s busy trembling like a leaf.

“We will be back one day. And when we are, you will fucking suffer. I can’t wait to hear you beg to die because you will plead for it. Remember that, Father? Guess what? It's finally today.”

Carter nods to Knox, and he and Reaper walk over to the screaming priest.

“No! Please. I can help you.”

After Knox zip-ties his wrists behind his back, Carter holds his hands up.

“Do you know where Heather Mancini is?”

I swear the goddamn heavens open up as I hear one word.

“Yes.”

Carter moves closer to him, the rage flowing through him is visceral.

“If you are lying, I will burn your flesh from your fucking bones. Do you understand?”

Tears stream down his face and he nods his agreement.

Carter balls his hands into fists, and I know this is taking every ounce of restraint he has.
