She stops and taps her finger on her head with a lighthearted giggle.
“I had your pussy drink, my drink and two at the house when I was getting ready.”
Well, that explains it.
She wraps her arms around my waist and shouts.
“Dance with me, Cahttt-er,” slurring my name.
“You’re drunk.”
She stumbles back, placing her hand over her heart as if she’s truly offended.
“I am not. I’m happy.”
Tilting her head back, she lifts her gaze to mine, her eyes filled with emotion that must be from the alcohol.
“Don’t you want me to be happy?”
I’m not a fan of inebriated women but after the life she has lived, she deserves a night to let loose.
I kiss her on the forehead.
“Of course I want you to be happy.”
She stomps her foot and flashes me a glare that disappears almost as quickly as it appeared.
“Then dance with me before this song ends.”
All of Me by John Legendplays through the speakers and I slide my hands down her back and pull her tight against my chest. She places one arm around my back and her other on my chest. We sway to the music and she stares up at me, emotion filling her gaze as if I hung the moon for her. I would if I fucking could.
“I’ve never danced with a man.”
“I’ve never danced with a woman. I’m glad you were my first everything” I admit.
Heather places her head against my chest and we sway to the music. Her movements are uncoordinated and she steps on my foot more than once. Somehow her drunken state doesn’t even bother me because it’s her.
The song ends and I take her back to the table and she sits beside Knox and rests her head on his shoulder.
He places his arm around her waist and less than two minutes later she’s asleep.
Killian shakes his head.
“I guess that’s it for tonight. Our fierce Killer is down for the count.”
Knox pulls her onto his lap while I place money on the table to pay for our drinks and a tip. He rises to his feet holding her in his arms and talks to her while she sleeps.
“Tesoro, you have so much to learn about control.”
As we head out of the bar, the bartender laughs when he spots Heather’s state. She stirs slightly and wraps her arms around Knox’s neck but doesn’t fully wake. I remember him telling me that first night she was with us that she wouldn’t take medication because she needed to be aware. Now, she’ll even getdrunk around us. I fucking love that she knows she’s safe with us. There’s no doubt. It’s simply a fact for her.
Chapter Fifty-Nine
THE HEATHEN
Killian said we are leaving tomorrow, so I’m packing my bag. Since we’ve only been here for a few days, it shouldn’t take me long. But, it does since I also had to find something to wear for tonight. None of them would tell me exactly what we are doing, but Carter did tell me we will be outside.
“Fuck. Tesoro. Am I ever going to get used to how stunning you are? The way the air escapes my lungs from a mere glimpse of you?”
