“We are going to be late,” he stated.
I checked the time on my watch. “Nigga, we have a whole hour, come the fuck on.”
Amir tried to hide his smile, but it was hard for him to.
We walked out of the house. That nigga started talking Islah ear off about how many shots he was going to make.
“And every time I score, I need to hear y’all scream for me.”
I laughed.
“And I will!” Islah responded
Once we got out to the car, Amir was asking me where we were stopping for breakfast.
I shook my head. “Damn, nigga, let me handle shit.”
Amir raised his hands. “Iight dawg, I’ll sit back.”
Islah was sitting back, trying to hold back her laugh.
I pulled outta the parking lot. Traffic was still kind of light as I moved through like normal. I stopped at a lil’ diner and let that lil’ nigga run in with some cash and get what he wanted to eat.
Once I saw him placing his order, I turned my attention to Islah.
“You feelin’ okay?” I asked her.
“My stomach feels funny, but I’m okay.”
I smiled. “I like the sound.”
Islah rolled her eyes. “Boy, shut up.”
I looked out the window. “I’m serious, A wedding, Amir moving in, a home…a baby. All that shit back-to-back sounds good to me.”
Islah exhaled. “That sounds like a lot to me.”
“You only think it’s stressful because you are not thinking about how much stress I will take off you.”
Islah looked at me and bit her bottom lip.
I reached out with my index finger and cuffed her chin, bringing her closer for a kiss.
After a while, Amir came back out with his food and drinks. He hopped in the back and started bussing it down before I could even pull out of the parking lot.
That nigga was done with his food by the time we pulled into the school’s parking lot.
He hopped out, fixing his clothes and grabbing his trash and his bag.
Me and Islah walked him, holding hands while Amir ran ahead of us. Once inside, he ran off to his team, while I made sure Islah didn’t need water or anything.
After that, we walked through the gym looking for somewhere to sit when I saw Jada staring at us.
“Look at her,” I said to Islah.
Islah looked up in the stands, saw her, and gave her a slight smile.
She walked up the stands and found two seats in the middle near the front.
