Tide
It’s all perfect. Everything is perfect. She’s fucking perfect. I had imagined her carrying my baby before all this. I could picture it in my head. Her stomach swollen, knowing I did that. Knowing it’s mine. And now that’s a reality.
“A forced marriage?” Ban laughs as we sit around the table.
“It’s not all that forced.”
“Sounds like it to me. You basically told her she was marryin’ you.”
“I don’t think she objects all that much,” I smirk.
“You sure this is what you want?” Patch asks.
“Yeah. It is. I want her, I want that baby. I want to do better, brother. I don’t plan on goin’ back.”
“That’s good. We need you out here. She’s gonna need you out here,” he says. I nod my head when she walks into the room. I can see it now that Ilook. The slight roundness of her stomach. I didn’t pay much attention before, but I am now.
She looks up and sees me, and I motion for her to come to me. She walks over, and I pull her down into my lap, kissing her neck and resting my hand on her stomach.
“You okay?” I ask her.
“I’m fine. What’s going on?”
“Nothin’. Just talkin’.” That’s when Patch’s phone rings. He pulls it out and answers as we all sit and wait for him to finish. I glance over, and that’s when his eyes find mine. He finishes his conversation before he looks to Mylah and back to me.
“She can hear it,” I tell him. Patch nods once before he takes a pull from his beer.
“That was Mystic.”
“What did he say?” I ask.
“Christian gave Beth a hundred and fifty thousand.”
“What?” I snap.
“Doesn’t say what it’s for, but her account has four hundred dollars in it. Where’s the money?” Patch says as he glances around the table.
“It was her. Fuck!” I roar, scaring Mylah enough that she jolts. I wrap my arms around her and keep her held against me.
“It’s lookin’ that way.”
“And now I need to hunt her ass down,” I say as I look around the table.
“What about Christian? You think he knew what the money was for?” Ban asks.
“Maybe he was just helpin’ his mom out?” Bane chimes in.
“Why, though? He hasn’t before this, yeah? Why now?” I ask.
“I don’t know, Tide. I guess we need to get them both and figure this out, yeah?” I nod my head. I don’t know how I feel about allthis. I just found out that I’m going to be a dad again, and now this? Mylah shifts in my lap as I pull her even closer.
“What's that mean?” She asks softly.
“It means I’m gonna kill that bitch,” I tell her.
“You can’t do that, Tide. You promised me.”
“I’m not goin’ anywhere, Mylah. Killin’ her doesn’t mean I’m goin’ anywhere.”
