“Yeah, I get that. I’m just on edge, brother. Been a while since I’ve gotten my hands dirty.”
“Heard that, brother. We’ll get you somethin’ to do. I’m sure Patch has some loose ends you can tie up for him,” Bane says. I nod. I sure as hell hope so because I’m getting a little anxious sitting around all the time.
My thoughts travel back to Mylah, though. I know they shouldn’t, but they always do. I shouldn’t think about the girl the way I do, seeing how she belongs to my son, but there’s something about her I can’t put my finger on that drives me crazy. I know I can be a better man for her than he can. I can be what she needs. I know she isn’t happy with him. There’s more going on between them than they’re telling me. I’ll find out, and I’ll use it all against them. I’ll get the girl.
My cell rings, and I pull it out to see it’s my son. I sigh, knowing what I’m doing behind his back before I answer it.
“Yeah?”
“Hey, Pop. I’m having a party for Mylah’s birthday at Club Generation. Can you make it?”
“When is that?”
“Friday night. She loves that club, and I figured it would be a fun way to celebrate.”
“Yeah, I’ll be there.”
“Yeah? Okay, great. I’ll see you on Friday.” The line goes dead as I blow out a breath. What am I getting myself into with that girl?Any chance that I can get close to her, I’ll take. And this sounds like the perfect opportunity.
“You good?” Bane asks.
“Yeah. Christian is havin’ a party for Mylah’s birthday on Friday. He wanted me to come.”
“You goin’?”
“Hell yeah, I’m goin’. I’m about to finger fuck her ass in the bathroom one more time,” I tell them. The guys laugh as Bane shakes his head.
“You know what you’re doin’ with that girl?”
“Nope. I have no fuckin’ clue, but I’m goin’ with it.”
“At least you’re honest.”
“Always, brother.”
“You don’t think this is gonna mess up your relationship with Christian?”
“He needs to man up. He ain’t doin’ somethin’ right if his girl is lettin’ me come around. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my son, but this is more than just that.”
“What is this then?” Ranger asks.
“I don’t fuckin’ know, brother. That’s what I’m tryin’ to find out.”
“You think if you fuck her you’ll get her out of your system?” he asks. I shake my head, running my hand through my hair.
“I don’t fuckin’ know anymore. I don’t know that it’s all about sex.”
“Since when?” Ban laughs.
“Since I met her ass. There’s always felt like somethin’ more there.”
“And Christian?”
“Like I said, he needs to man up at some point. Can we stop this little girl from talking now?” I look between them as they all laugh a little. I don’t think it’s all that funny. My personal shit isn’t their concern, and my relationship with my son sure as hell isn’t either. Christian and I have always been rocky, but this would push him away. I don’t know if I can do that to him. I want my son around.
“Fine. Stop talkin’ about Tide’s bitch. Let’s get the hell outta here and go grab a beer.” I nod my head, liking that idea. We put the guns away and head out of the shooting range, climbing on our bikes. Then we pull out and head toward the local bar. Sure, we could drink back at the clubhouse, but I’m hoping for a good bar fight tonight. I’m hoping there’s just one wrong motherfucker in our spot that I can take out.
One good ass-beating should get that out of my system. Or so I hope. It’s been too long since I’ve gotten my hands dirty and handled some issues. In the pen, I was always watching my back, but for the most part, they knew to stay the hell away from me and they did. They knew who I was and what I was capable of doing to them.
